What did you do to your bike today?

98 r1 looked the best imo

EDIT: got into a bit of a race today coming back from wolvo,i couldn't quit tell what bike it was but it had a single underseat exhaust? looked bit like an mt07/09 not sure but all he kept doing was wheelying, was satisfying beating him on an oldish nail

I love this feeling, An older guy on a 1100 blackbird pulled up to me once at a level crossing, i nodded, he kept revving his engine to engage in a race, i ignored him all through the 30 zones till the national speed limits where it was very clear it was game on, he pinned it... so i let him catch up to me 5 miles later whilst i waited for him at a roundabout, he pulled up looking my bike all over to see what it was (i didn't have any fairings on) he told me he was shocked and my bike was very quick, he asked me what bike i had, i laughed and told him it was only a 600, he got angry and sped off :D

What bike you got?

Had another couple of hours out today, making the most of the last bits of summer. Was riding in a 30 zone with my visor up and had a large insect/small bird hit me right square in the right eye, as it was open  Got that that made my eye water for a bit!

I rode visor down the rest of the way. :D

Also hoping for some good weather later this week, got all week off and wanted to have a tester camping trip, if it's decent weather Wednesday/Thursday/Friday I'll be going down to Dorset on the Wednesday, camping there, then onward to Exmoor in Devon for another nights camping, then back home on Friday, about 640 miles in total. A bit easier than the 800 miles over 2 days I did before ;)

Can you even use the MX bike lift on your bike? Anything heavier and it'd be useless, as they're meant for lifting 100kg dirt bikes.

I'd go for the paddock stands, but if you can, get a headstock front paddock stand - it'll let you do work your forks if needed. Oh and if you can fit rear paddock stand bobbins, then get a stand to suit - they're much better than the cup style ones.

Yeah, my bike weights around 128kg and that stand is rated for 160kg. But I'll probably get bobbins and proper stands like the ones you mentioned.

Haha I knew someone would bring up the abba stand :D

To be fair, if it fits your bike then it's a decent thing to have. They don't list the CB400, but I'm sure the garage I used to get my front tyre fitted used one...

Just watched your film of the Grand Saint Bernard pass. It had great sound - what setup are you using now?

Hero 3+ Black, official mic adapter, and a £2 Neewar mic from the rainforest just under my visor pointing up.

I have only recently realised that the trick is to start the camera when there is no engine running or it messes up the audio auto balancing and records too much wind noise.

I'll have to justify the cost of buying Abba stand, even decent set of paddock's will cost me around 50-60, abba is over 100...

BTW I need some winter glvoes and instead of getting under layers, I'll just get textile trousers. I tried some weiss gloves previously and they were actually more comfortable than my dainese. Any suggestions on textile trousers?

I almost bought a used one back when I had my ER6F, seems like a good investment especially as it can be used with other bikes & paddock stands scare me a little bit, with me they're a recipe for disaster. That being said I'm a centre stand man now.

Yeah I'm just thinking about Winter gloves too. My Cheap Richa ones were fine-ish last winter but they're not as waterproof as they should be and that really sucks in a downpour & I cannot find my Oxford heated gloves anywhere. Now that I have the heated grips though I'm thinking of using Handlebar muffs and just using my summer gloves. They're not sexy but then neither am I or my bike. :(

Drained oil and coolant out of her while the weather was good yesterday. Next will be tank, air box and carbs

Centre stands are good for quick oiling sessions (I miss mine) but I'd still maybe get a paddock stand for adjusting chain and what-not. Doing your chain on the centre stand means you rear wheel is completely un-weighted so the slack will be different than when on the ground. Only marginally mind but worth baring in mind.

Thanks. That's incredible sound from placing it inside the helmet. I need to give it a go, cheers!

Have a look at all the bikes the Abba supports, most of the time you just need a £10 attachment and it'll work on another bike. From what I've seen itll work on just about every sports or naked.

OK so you are carrying 50KG less weight but have 45.1 less HP at the rear wheel, 58 Nm less torque. Are you sure they are really gunning it?

The super blackbird used to be the fastest production bike around... but then again it could be a case of you hitting your top speed faster

Finally got round to fitting my rear hugger yesterday and it was still attached when I reached the office this morning :D
Played with my idle speed yesterday as well but must not have let the engine get up to temperature fully as it was idling at around 1k this morning when it should be around 1.3-1.4k although it still rode fine.
