What did you do to your bike today?

TBH a Z1000sx wasn't on the list, I just happen to pass one the other day and though "hmm, that looks interesting" - as a 2nd bike I'd want a v-twin, but would possibly settle for a triple - but deffo not an IL4. Nothing wrong with having a fondle of a few bikes on a boring weekend :D

The torque curve is even flatter than the Street Triple and I can tell you it feels very similar to a Triple to ride.

Hmm, so it does - I'll have to get a test ride at some point. I think I'd regret not getting a big twin though - there's just something about a big cc V or L twin - the noise, the feel... some people love IL4 engines, I love v-twins. Plus I'll have the CB400 for a 14k rpm fix :p

IMO the only thing that beats a big (watercooled) Ducati L twin with a full termi system

is an Aprilia V4 with an Austin racing GP2r.

But aprilia don't do a touring spec v4 engined bike. :(

I'm not sure,I'd guess around 07 onwards I think, mcn reviews might tell you for each models equipment spec

Edit, pretty sure 07 models has one built in,05 doesn't not sure on 06

That's too much for an 06 IMO,mileage is OK but price isn't,I've seen a 2011 model for £500 more on eBay 22k miles

@craig they fit to the speed sensor I think,by the front sprocket not sure but pretty simple

There were constant rumours that Aprilia would refresh the Caponord with a tuned down V4 but then they seemed to go in a different direction with the Rally version.

Even if they do I'll never buy another Aprilia again until they sort out their dealership network and supply chain.

saw a learner today in one of those imitation polite (police) fluorescent jackets, its a wonder they don't get pulled over for it

Went for a 'spin' today (turned into a 5 hour mini-tour from Birmingham, through the Malvern Hills and Hereford, to the Brecon Beacons) and accidentally stumbled upon the Westons cider factory...the place was huge and the smell was AMAZING.

The road from Brecon to Hereford is fantastic by the way, and the scenery along the river Wye is quite something.

the Malvern hills are nice, and through Worcester

did you fix your heated grips?

Not yet, I was going to have a crack at it today but I had a massive urge to go out for a long ride, and there's only so much 'me time' I can get away with, with a young family.

By the time I got to the Brecons, I was rushing a bit too much to really enjoy the views. Next time I'm going to do it properly over a long weekend. Not on the SV though...my knees and arse are killing me!

What also struck me was the epic nature of a lot of the private houses / estates in the backwaters of Monmouthshire and the Wye valley.

Look at this I went past in Herefordshire for example, a private house with huge ornamental gardens opposite:
