What did you do to your bike today?

My bike almost fell off my crappy paddock stand the other day.

Where's the best place to get an Abba?

Got mine direct from them. Free delivery as well and at the time, everyone else was selling at the same price so thought I may as well go direct.

You could also check eBay for a 2nd hand one?

But this is what you want :p

An unbalanced rim (all of them) and an unbalanced tyre (all of them too) has a chance of ending up balanced when combined together.

Can't decide if I want to get the bike, it didn't sell on ebay. And he's said he'll sell it for 1500(not sure if he would go lower, said he would rather keep it than go Lowe, but might just be playing hard ball), got an insurance quote and it's only 140. And got a man with a van quote at around 140. It's all the way up near Glasgow so I can't realistically test drive it. But I do love the look of it.

It's 1997 Yamaha Thundercat 600
Customised Features: Bodywork/Fairing, Handlebars/Clip Ons, Mirrors, Paint Job, Rear lights/Indicators, Windshield, 1 tooth smaller on front cog.

Mot till may, doesn't show nay mot details other than when it runs out on the new mot system, does that mean there was no advisories?

What's the thundercat like as a bike? Any issues I should be on the look out for?

Look nice :D love the short back end / single seat.

I wouldn't hire a man with a van. You can rent a more than big enough van for £60-70 and drive it yourself.

Sucks a bit that it's far from you so you can't test ride. I would definitely want to test ride that, see if it's running rough and that it is actually worth the money. You could ask the guy to at least send a video of startup so you can hear?

How much is 800miles of petrol though. 397 each way according to Google maps.

Oh! In that case the £140 would probably be cheaper if they charge you 140 all in!

tbh, I can believe that he would rather keep it than go lower than £1500. It looks like he's put a lot of time in to that (if he customised himself?).

Yeah I hadn't spotted that, bike mate just pointed out, puts me off a hell of a lot. As it looks like standard swing arm drilled out. Just sent an email asking about it. But unless that was professionally altered by a trusty company then, pretty much no go :( but it's so nice.

And he's noticed that the front calliper has no signs of rebuilds which apparently the thundercat needs regularly.

Well at least that makes the choice easy, suppose i'll just get the xj back on the road and live with that, but it's horrible in the wind above 60, and it really shouldn't be.

just ask him to knock off the price of a second hand swingarm, then stick an un altered one back on

it is a rather silly idea to cut out holes in a major structural part, the calipers should be fine aslong as they aint binding, you could check that when you looked the bike over

EDIT: ordered some much needed bits for my workhorse, exhaust gaskets/rad fan switch/4l of oil and a oil filter

stuck in the 20% discount CUKFLASH on ebay, thanks:p

Booked the bike in for 48k and during the chat got reminded that I only replaced my rear tyre 5k ago and it's dead (well, less than 2mm is dead for me) already. Is what I thought I was getting but the first time I've stared at the numbers.

Hopefully I'll get to try the R1200RS out when it's in though!

Nothing to the bike, but made the most of the 20% off eBay, and ordered a towbar and wiring harness for the car. One step closer to the track bike :)

Needed an upgrade to my cheap buffalo textile jackets so took advantage of eBays lovely offer and picked up a furygan motion lab titan jacket, should go nicely with my new Hood jeans.
