What did you do to your bike today?

Not keen on the holes drilled into swingarm...

Depends on how its done. If it's done in a certain way it can work without weakening the swingarm.

This is a practice on track cars

edit: ah they are not countersunk holes - looks like its just a custom swingarm

Changed the front master cylinder, bleeded the system successfully and still no braking. The pistons won't even come out, so I'm guessing the seals need replacing?

How hard would that be? The bike is in the workshop, but they won't start on it till late monday-tuesday as two of the mechanics are on holdiay...

Edit:

My mate just told me that his alternator in the bike died, its a SD990. He was laughing at my KTM breaking and now his broke.... lol

it wont be the seals,it will be trapped air somewhere in the system if its not pushing the pistons at all

you kept the reservoir topped up all the time you bled them?

Yes I have, there were bubble coming out from the reservoir. But in the bleed valve I didn't see any bubbles...

But I topped it up regularly with Dot 4 (you can use Dot 3 or Dot 4 on my bike) and nothing.

The bike is at the mechanics at the moment, but they won't start till Tuesday on it. I'm thinking whenever I should try to bleed it again, but I doubt that'll work. The new mastercylinder on the other hand works like butter compared to the old one.

Private, I'm repairing it and will only use it to commute till it sells. I won't touch KTM again, I've had enough of it... My mates KTM is borken now too, his dad's SD1290 is on warranty.

To much coincidences, to me it just looks like KTM has really bad quality control or is cheaping out on stuff. I'm looking finance now, will buy a brand new bike. MT-07 or CBR650F, I won't keep it under a blanket though and still ride it in winter.

Edit:

I can't blame the previous owner though, I've done over 2000 miles since first problem developed, 2nd problem developed after 2,500 miles...

They aren't indeed, I know that my posts sound a little bit hateful to some. But even though I'm extremely pee'd off, I'm posting a private video that my mate sent me to just confirm how ******* these ***** are...

So another advice from my own mistakes, AVOID KTM bikes. No wonder I only see them on a sunny day... just like Italian bikes.

Edit:

His uncles RSV4 has blown up a month ago after 10,000km's. Only just told me this today along with his video...

The Japs don't really make a similar bike that's worth having though. I'd still love an RC8R :P

I would pick ZX10-R 2016 or R1M over it, even though R1 is too small for me. :p

Edit

By the time I'll be able to even own one of these bikes, there will probably be new sports bikes with 300bhp and kerb weight of 150-160kg. :p

Edit

My KTM is faultless, can't complain about anything with mine lol :p

That's what my mate said, he was laughing at my KTM breaking and now his broke too. lol

Bleed it until fluid comes out of the bleed valve. Also you need to make sure the valve is at the top of the caliper. One of my calipers has the valve at the bottom of the caliper so if I want to bleed it I have to turn it upside down or air will get trapped.

Wait till you own a cagiva

How many issues did you have with it? :p

Only fluid was coming out, the valve is at the top just like it was before I took it apart.
