What did you do to your bike today?

Gear indicator a little iffy at start. Go to 1st, thinks it's 2nd or 3rd. I know there's going to be a load of gunk under the sprocket cover, a good clean is in order when i tighten my chain next.

Any ideas what could cause the gear indicator to go a little weird on start up. As soon as i start riding, it's fine.

I'm having a special moment, planning on replacing my chain and sprockets at the weekend. I've got a chain breaker/riveter but they pretty much all state you need to grind the heads off before you can break it, I have nothing capable of this and the last time I done one of these was on a 125 so it had a spring clip I could attack with a screwdriver.
Now here comes the special bit I can't quite visualise it but if I've got the back wheel out and the front sprocket off anyway I should just be able to lift the old chain off without breaking it right?

Not unless your swingarm has a hole in it ;)

Depending on the bike it might go behind/through the swingarm.

What chain tool do you have? I managed to break a chain just with tool, was hard work but it did it.

I broke my Hornet's chain just with the tool, wasn't a problem. You might break the pin on the tool though if you put too much force in, so if you can grind/hacksaw it off then you might as well.

I've got one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004UAGGZE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

I might try with a hacksaw first and if it's going to take me all day I can give the breaker a go and hope.

Thinking about it I suppose I could always drill the heads off the rivets.

Well some people have to grind down the pin head slightly as they sort of 'mushroom' over. Some chains also have a main link which could be coloured or have a different pin, try find that as it should be easier to break there.

I have that same breaker tool :)

I use an angle grinder and cut through the chain/remove it,be careful it don't slip and take any fingers off though

Youll be there forever with a hacksaw

Hi All Bikers :p

Not been about here for a while but I thought I'd post my change in protection as I've previously recommended FS365. Recently though I don't know what has changed but the mix is different, Now it comes out creamy & smears everything & is a right pain in the ****.
Switched now to ACF50 in Aerosol form, Aircraft grade protection highly recommend here & everywhere else so I don't need to say to much about it just Don't buy any FS365 any more as it's ****.

Apart from that all I've done is used my bike, Been riding out with a couple of mates with Harleys quite often & went to a big meet up tuther week where there was about 15 of us touring up to the meet, All Harleys cept Me. :p Made a Hell of a noise going through villages towns etc people were even coming out there front door to see what was going on. Must admit I love sitting at the back of a long line of bikes cruising about, like sitting at the back on a roller coaster, You see it all happen to everybody else then it happens to you. :D

As far as bike mods go I got all ****** off with myself about it as my back tyre is just not wide enough & there's not enough room to fit one the size I want as there's very little room as it is. :(
Solution obviously is to swap out the swinging arm for one that'll take summit nice & wide but that's going to be a right **** ache so I'm sat thinking about it just like I have been the last month or two.

So SPLATTT & that's me. :p

I wonder if your FS365 went off? It's water based and designed to pretty much just wash off. It being water based might mean it can separate quite quickly over time?

I was thinking of going to FS365 myself recently, just to spray my bike down after a wet ride. I'm still not really sure what to do with it after a wet ride, especially when they start laying salt. It's dark when I get home, so can't really wash it, but maybe I just need to use my little lamp and wash anyway.

I have the same tool. It managed to break a 520 chain, so with a bit of effort you should be OK.

That tool also doubles as an effective weapon, it's pretty well built! :D

Massive difference being on a 125, feels too light now and also feels like you're sat on the handle bars because it's so small :p

I hated getting back on my YBR after doing my DAS training even more so when I failed my MOD 2 :o it's like being on a kids bike in comparison.

Yeah I didn't like getting back on it yesterday, rode it like I stole it lol, breaking harder, faster into corners, sliding when going around roundabouts :p

When I did my CBT during the summer it was my 1st time on a 125 on the road. Used to riding 250cc+ motocross bikes, it was strange having so little power. I have no idea how people cope on the road on 125's, it would scare me knowing I have no power to get out of certain situations.

I'm even more impressed with my Furygan leather jacket after tonights 'swimming' weather, so much rain!

45 minutes of constant battering and I have a small slightly damp bit in my chest area, and that's about it. I'm deffo gonna pick up the matching leather trousers, will make a perfect touring kit as I'll only need proper waterproofs if it's solid rain for an hour or more. Any showers it can handle without an issue.

Why do they put the horn button on the same side as the hand I make my self abuser signal with!? I want to do both!

give it a clean up around the front sprocket/gear change area, spray with wd40 if you have some, does the speedo register a mph aswell when you rev the engine?i know my bike used to do that

on another note not liking all the god damn leaves in my road,so slippy I have to slow right down, same for a few roads in town, where's all the roadsweepers gone?:(

I have been thinking the same thing! for two weeks now a road near my house and downhill coming to work have been clogged with leaves and its so dangerous I can feel the front end squirming, and..... not a single roadsweep in sight, see them all the time in the summer, what the hell are they sweeping in the sun!
