What did you do to your bike today?

The current model mirrors are awful, like something off a 5 year old cheapo bike, they needed to do something with them. Shame there's no led headlights, just DRL in the headlights.

You sure? It says this one has a new engine, are they going to change it again after this model?

Yes, this model has some reworked internals but the new Speed will have a completely new engine (with a bump in displacement and a great weight reduction), just like the Street Triples.

This is like the 2012 Street Triples where there was a half-way model that was only around for 1-1.5 years.

Ah nice. I'll have to upgrade to one of those then! :D

I dunno, the 2012 street only had a couple of changes from the previous model, wasn't it just lights and a few other small bits? This new speed has new bodywork, new wheels, new lights, completely new engine internals and slipper clutch, new electronics... I doubt they'd spend that much on updating the bike and only have it run for a year or 2. Only the top spec new street triples will have 125bhp too, the normal models will have 110/115bhp, maybe the speed triple S is 140bhp and the R is 150bhp?

I don't doubt a completely new speed is being worked on with a raft of new electronics (hopefully the bosch IMU, quickshifter up and down etc) and hopefully around 160bhp, but I doubt we'll see itany time soon. If the new street is due end of next year (so spring 2017 release) the new Speed would most likely be a year or so later minimum.

I've just passed my mod 1 :D no minors, so pleased! :)

Congrats!!:D that was the hard bit, now you just need to do a 30 minute ride with sat nav in your ear! Got your mod 2 booked?

I torque everything to spec when it comes to wheels, brakes and stuff like that. Just makes me feel better about it being on properly!

Torque wrench not expensive, so you may as well: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-...8&qid=1447159053&sr=8-1&keywords=toque+wrench

I would recommend a nice long breaker bar for getting it off as well, but then that's dependent on your bike. I never needed one with my Hornet, always came off easy with the torque wrench, but with my new bike I needed a breaker bar + wanted one anyway, nice to have in the toolkit :)

Cheers, will get that torque wrench and found a bar on amazon too.

If you're just getting into building a tool kit for biking, then I would highly recommend just going for the Halfords 200 piece kit, which is currently half price: http://www.halfords.com/workshop-to...onal-200-piece-socket-and-ratchet-spanner-set. If I didn't already have most of the tools I need, I would be getting one. I'm quite tempted to get one regardless!

It'll cover basically everything apart from torque wrench and big breaker bar.

Got to agree with this, I've got the smaller 150 one I think but even that has everything I've needed apart from as craig says a big breaker bar and torque wrench.

I did treat myself to a Wera screwdriver set though because the little spring clip fell out of the holder from my Halfords set and was lost forever which meant my bits kept falling out :o

I have the smaller pro kit from halfords, which will do at the moment, it's junk quality though so when i start building a proper set, it'll be a better hit.

Unofficial. Basically some parts they get in have a model number for an SV1000S/SVF1000 all of a sudden. Could just be nothing but sounds promising.

There's been rumours kicking about for awhile that Suzuki are going to use the motor from the new VStrom 1000 in a road bike, maybe that's it?.

Well done mate! That's the difficult one out the way now you've just got a nice leisurely ride to get through.

Bout time:D

Congrats
