What did you do to your bike today?

Think I got this strange issue sorted. Strip down and cleaned calipers, freed pistons and covered them in ptfe spray, sanded down the pads, and greased slider and back of pads with red rubber grease and gave the system a flush of fluid and a decent bleed. It baffles me how people neglect their brakes.

Whilst i was at it i thought id check the clutch fluid and give it a bleed too...

Gross! Probably original fluid!

Thats the top of the bleed nipple sheared off on the first twist! Even after i soaked it on penetrating fluid :(

Just bought a Chinese rear seat cowl from ebay, thought why not as they are only £18. Even if the colour matching is off we have a full on sprayshop at work so can soon sort that out. Also got fully synthetic oil and filter for 8000 mile service which will be done on Friday. Pretty boring stuff really.

Think im also going to pick up 2 sets of LED indicators and resistors/relay, stock ones look a bit naff tbh.

Almost fell of my bike twice in a few days. Full lock when doing a U-turn and just about saved myself from embarrassment and today I came to a stop with both wheels straddling a manhole cover in the rain. I knew it'd be slippery so very lightly eased on throttle to pull away and still the back end went nuts and I almost soiled myself. Hate those things.

Just get the relay, try them first though, most led indicators have the resistors built in

 is that all the fluid that was left in the res?

It's a cracker of a bike you've got there, good job it was cheap!! :p

Don't worry too much about doing u-turns. You do it on the test and then realise it's much more expensive to drop your own bike. I hardly do it, though did start to a bit at home when parking the old bike. Still too in love with the new one, or yet to b comfortable enough.

Yep, didnt get a chance to pull any through as the nipple sheared off. I hate having trouble with my nipples ;)

It will be a stunner once im finished with her, thinking of going dark blue :D

Lol 1st time I tried it on my CBR it was a bit sketchy, wrist hit the tank as was not used to the steering angle.

haha!!

Exactly same thing happened on my Ninja! I thought, well these are easy lets try it on a sports bike.... Oh crap, thats my wrist on the tank and now I can't turn the throttle..... all about clutch this time lol. Just about managed it :o

The only winter thing I'm wearing at the minute is my buff due to an unfortunate beard accident that's left me with an unprotected face.
