Not the cheapest stuff but especially worth it. I keep missing out on the Aldi deal which is quite annoying
Edit: Had a dream last night me and my friend were riding around a few sweet roads in Wales. Now I really want my bike!
I'm having a tough problem though. Originally I had set myself a budget of £2750-£3000 for a bike at the very most. Now it's creeped up to about £3.5 though I've seen one recently I really like for £3750. Is that too much money for a first bike? Am I really that likely to destroy it?
The sensible side says just get a rubbish run around for a while but the other side of me just says get what I want and be happy. Bah!
that's true.
I know R&G crash protectors wont always protect everything but I expect I'm most likely to fall at low speeds if I ever do. Do they provide enough protection for at least the damage to be limited to hundreds rather than thousands?
Though I guess from Tom_E's experience they certainly helped.
Not sure how much longer I can trust these Metzelers in the cold, minus degrees this morning and they felt horrible, and all week they have span up almost every journey, a few times big moments at motorway speeds, not fun...
Without them I'd be looking at a trashed tank, nose cone, possibly would have smacked the bars hard enough to twist something and my leg would have been well ground into the road.
Yes.
When I got knocked off my Hornet the crash bungs took the impact saving my tank, forks, front fender, etc. - basically the difference between a write-off and the insurance company repairing it.
They're not good for racing or high speed crashes as they can flip the bike at which point it really is screwed! But for low speed & drops (and maybe high speed if it doesn't hit a curb), they'll save your bike.
That alone makes them worth their price. Never even thought about my leg before.
Well it must be about time for you to have another go pro moment for us all to watch![]()

Only you can make the decision really. I had for the SV for 9 months and didnt drop or crash it.
Pretty sure there's a member that got a Hayabusa for their first bike and doesnt regret it in the slightest
So many forums I read said your guaranteed to drop your bike which has given me this massive paranoia that I'm going to wreck whatever I sit on.
