What did you do to your bike today?

Lookin' good, Josh! :D

Was gonna say, it looks like you accidently left the baffles in ;) :p

I actually put the baffles back into my BOS carbons as they were giving me slight tinnitus, even through my ear plugs

Edit: And what Malc said :p

Old tyres were of questionable condition, front being perished and on the verge of replacement tread wise, rear being close to the limit and poor quality. I had both replaced today with some decent on/off road tyres. Bike feels much more confidence inspiring now, but of course I'm going easy for the first 100 miles or so as they bed in.

Learnt how to adjust the chain, think i've got the basics covered now and will take a look at how to chain the fork oil next...any other suggestions on things that a newbie could learn? I don't have a dedicated space such as a garage, all being done in the parking area of our street (a close).

Changing the fork oil is not really a basic thing to do or ideal in a street :p
Do you have paddock stands? as long as you can adjust the chain, lube and clean the chain, check brake pads, tyre condition that's pretty much the basics, changing the engine oil is pretty easy to do also.

I can do all of those apart from the brake pads, guess that's next to do :) No paddock stand, thanks for letting me know about the fork oil change..would be a bit embarrassing getting stuck half way through and not being able to put it back together in front of the neighbors :o

Adjusting suspension looked easier than I thought, if you can find some info on how to test your settings and have someone to give you a hand.

well managed to get the exhaust on today. After a very hairy moment where the link pipe clamp bolt was corroded in and I thought i was going to round the head off, in the end the bolt snapped in the middle which was a massive relief as the clamp just came apart. I'd still be out there now if the head had rounded off!

and this is it in place.

One thing I noticed when taking the stock can off was a part on the link pipe. I think its called the butterfly valve?
I took a pic of it.

To me it looks like there should be some pull/push wires attached to it but there was nothing on there when I took it off???
Does this mean some ones had an after market can on before me? I'm not getting any FI code on the dash?
The way the bolt was corroded I'd say the stock can has been on for a while.

Also got the new levers on and carbon wrapped the seat cowl and gave it a few coats of lacquer.

.

There are as standard, when I bought mine I got given the standard pipe (no can) as it has the titanium akrapovic fitted. I didn't really look at it much but he gave me some cables which were apparently the EXUP cables, if you Google them there's a lot of people that remove them

I always remove them from my bikes, but I keep the motor in place to avoid FI error codes.

No cables = valve always open = more noise :D
