What did you do to your bike today?

My dark visor only comes out when it's warm enough that fogging isn't an issue anyway, unlike Kreee I'm not lucky enough to be riding between lakes and mountains :(

A few days of my bank holiday fun :D

Sprocket carrier bearing first, it looks bad but there is actually loads of grease left in there, it just looks and feels like its been mixed with gravel :p

Next was the suspension linkage overhaul, with DIY bearing puller, worked amazingly :D
Ohlins got a clean whilst it was off too.

Day two was the steering races and bearings, bought a 32mm deep socket to make my own castle nut socket.

Everything was going perfectly until...... typical Jap bolts being made out of cheese, bolt snapped whilst I was UNDOING it!
Snapped at a stupid angle too so was always going to be a nightmare to try and drill without a pillar drill, and as expected it snapped my drill bit too in the attempt, new clutch perch is on order and hopefully she will be back on the road before the weekend, cant wait to see what it all feels like with fresh bearings. :)

(Sorry if some photos are still big, I have resized them all small on photobucket but I don't think its updated the cache yet...)

There's something quite satisfying about that first ride out when nothing falls off and everything feels good after you've had it in bits and sworn at it a little bit.

They are indeed, £7 each!

Can't manage to get the second baffle out, first one came out easy, no matter how hard I try I can't pull the other one out, it's like it's been glued in!

baffle or gasket?

if baffle leave it in and ride the bike so it has a few heat cycles then it might come out

as for gasket you should be able to dig it out with a flat bladed screwdriver

Give it a proper run up the road, and get a pair of mole grips on it, and give it a twist as you pull it out. You probably just need to break the initial bind between the metal.

You have removed the bolt/rivet, haven't you?

You could try putting something long and hard inside and tap it out.

That's what she said.... :p

First baffle came straight out, didn't even need pliers which surprised about, looking at the stuck baffle, it does seem like there's some form of sealant around the baffle.
