What did you do to your bike today?

I put the stock tail light along with some indicators I had as spares...

I don't like the way it looks now... :(

That okay? Legal? It fits at least and the plate should be here tomorrow.

I must remember to take another think at filtering with these on.. They're quite a bit wider than the mirrors.

Huzzah!

Just took my Rizomas off and stock mirrors back on for service tomorrow morning. Not having some grease monkey knocking my Rizomas :p

The stock ones look so nasty.

Lubed her up :D

The throttle cables, that is! Bit of a pain getting the cables off the throttle tube, especially having to fight with a heated grip cable too. Rather than replace the bar end I did the ghetto method of trimming some rubber off the grip so it doesn't rub. Much better now, a MUCH lighter throttle action, and it snaps back much better which has allowed me to have less slack in the throttle. All for the cost of some 3-in-1 oil and half and hours work. Win :D

Tried to go for a ride & didn't make it off the drive way, bike started missing, then fuel started to pour out of one of the carb overflow pipes, just stripped the carbs off & #1 cylinder inlet & air box stub are full of fuel, it did the exact same thing in October last year.

Oh well looks like i'll be spending the afternoon stripping the right carb & waiting for the air box & #1 cylinder to dry out, still at least the weathers nice & warm this time unlike last time, kinda my fault tho, I kept meaning to buy a carb rebuild kit but just never got round to it.

Oooo shiny :D I love new tyres.

You'll never guess what... my stock mirrors I put on for the service were knocked out of place during the service :p

They did a nice job on the back brake pad. I can see they used copper grease on the threads which is good, at least now I can undo them without worrying about strippage.

Today I wanted to put this inside that

It wasn't too hard to get the old one out but I really need to buy some longer socket extensions, comparison with the new one.

The old one came out the bottom with a bit of jiggling but the new was never going to go in that way, had to do a bit more dis-assembly.

Once the battery tray was out the way the new shock slid in no problem. I had a moron moment where I couldn't work out how to get the dogbone bolts lined up again but realized I could move the swingarm up and down myself . I had to cut a hole in the part where the toolkit is stored to accommodate the cylinder thing on the side of the new shock, so I'll have remember to take it with me on long journeys.

Unfortunately I had to go to work so left it disassembled, hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to actually try it out!

I had that same moron moment when I replaced mine was sat there swearing for ages thinking they'd sent me a shock that was slightly too long until I realised I hadn't chocked the back wheel up enough so it had dropped by a couple of mm. Stuck my boot under it, lifted it up and the bolts slid in no dramas :o

Took her out for a countryside tour with a hornet and a street triple. Went to Loomies then off to Stockbridge and the Mayfly pub. Really good ride :D
