What did you do to your bike today?

Nope but I've got a belly pan and I can change the oil and filter without removing it. You won't be able to get to the spark plug or do a coolant change without removing it though.

On a spark-plug change but it seemed feasible to get to without removing fairing a minute ago. Obviously, looking feasible and being feasible is two completely different things :D

You are going to have to remove the lower fairings. there are tools to remove a bolt if rounded off, like an impact driver...just make sure you have the replacement fittings before hand. Spark plug change will require the moving of the rad

Changed Oil (Castrol Power 1 Racing 10W-40 4T)
Cleaned and Lubed the chain. (Motul chain cleaner and Motul chain lube)

P.S.: I know the screen looks horrible, but it helps ;)
And yes I drained the oil using the bike's the side stand before using the paddock stand to lube the chain.

Got a replacement reg/rec coming as the speedo stopped working again then at almost exactly the same time the engine went strange like it wasnt firing properly.....turn the lights off and everything is back to normal....

Managed to source a replacement for £30 from a racing group so not too bad, just something I could do without having to fork out for atm

That's a nice looking bike, not seen one since the original and never really liked it but the black looks cool.

Yep

Looks better with or without? I can't decide, but after a quick blast on the motorway tucking in a little, the difference was satisfying. :p

Without

Where did you get your LED headlight bulb from? I presume it's a normal H4 bulb, dipped and full beam on the same bulb? Any issues with it?

Cheers, think I've found that one on the bay, £30 for single H4 bulb.

Have you had any issues with heat? My headlight bulb is full of wires.

I took it apart 2 days ago, no wires were melted or burnt. The heatsinks are sticking out of the holes I've so it gets that extra cooling. :p

I paid 35 quid for 2 H4 LED bulbs with drivers. :)

Serviced it, new air filter and oil filter. Fairing had to come off which was a bit of a faff getting it back on but not too bad. Oil filter was on crazy tight and we had to use th screwdriver method to remove it.

£170 saved and it took around 2 hours :)

Fitted a cheapo double bubble screen to my SV to replace the standard one. Then washed it.

Fully faired SV  Nioce mate.

What braided lines did you get for your SV? Much difference from stock?

I haven't done an MOT on any of my bikes yet, simply there wasn't a need. But, I'll probably go Frog's or GJD Motorcycles

Check both prices, go with the cheaper, but for any major work on the bike I would recommend GJD. ;)

There's a place in Hitchin, they do MOT's for 15 quid. I can't remember what the place is called from top of my head...

Edit: Are you a part of the local bikers group? There's a meet tomorrow at 7, an 45 min ride out starts at 6 from Baldock services. If you're interested can come along, I'm going for a ride with them.

Edit2: I actually cleaned the calipers today, made a difference, only with a tooth brush and break cleaner. But still, they stopped bitting and the bike is easier to push now. :D

Booked in for fresh boots (Angel GTs) and an MOT

Taking bets on whether the 7.5 x 6 plate passes. I'd be annoyed if it doesn't.

Yep, and i think the sizing is off, by bugger all.

Yep there is no legal requirement for the actual plate to be a fixed size as long as the registration fits within the guidelines for character size and spacing.

My bike failed for having a smaller plate. The font is identical to the full size plate which I forgot to swap.

Test date 18 July 2016 Test Result Fail
Registration plate incorrect size (6.3.1a)
Rear reflector on motorcycle missing (1.4.1)
