What did you do to your bike today?

without sounding like a complete ****. I dont think its really wise to do an overtake near any junctions for this exact reason... To many idiots on the road who change their minds last minute or panic when the sat nav shouts at them

Lol at RAC

Glad you're mostly okay dude

junction was pretty hidden, was a golf course entrance, just wanted to get past her before we got to the twisty bit where it's all double solids and completely unsafe to over take.

Arrhh I see. Makes sense, I hate sitting behind someone for ages, make you want to take more risks as sitting on a bumper behind a flitty driver isnt a good thing!

That's a damn shame fella, but the fact the entrance was pretty hidden probably won't help you when it comes to claim time, much as it will suck, i wouldn't be at all surprised if her insurance co don't hold you to a 50/50.

I was thinking this also, unless she didn't indicate and theres witnesses to that?

New DID gold chain and renthal sprockets arrived, hopefully some galfer discs arrive before the weekend too, its been an expensive month, need a new front tyre also!

Next on the list is a Brembo RCS master :D

just rebuilt front brake master cyclinder on my zx6r,next job is getting both wheels powdercoated,£60 the pair which isn't bad at all

no indication, no brake lights. she knew it was there as she was a member of the golf club. no wittiness unfortunately.

Which is why I said 50/50, presuming she owns up to not indication, she'll share 50% of the blame, if she doesn't, oh dear, things will get very messy indeed...

i suspect she wont own up to no indication :(

I suspect your right fella, the best thing you can do is just accept that your going to be bent over by the insurance company, it's going to butcher your renewals for god knows how many years, & then chalk it down to bitter experience, learn from it, & move on with your life.

The fact that you get to walk away under your own steam is all that matters tbh. :)

yeah just wondering what exactly will happen. first vehicle and first accident. assuming they side with her will i have to pay anything now or is it just i wont get anything back for the bike etc?

Guess it's time to learn to drive:p

Depends on your insurance cover, if it's fully comp, you'll be ok, if its TPFT, you'll be out of pocket bike wise, just don't let them take it away otherwise storage costs will wipe out any breaker value.

Didn't realise it was your first vehicle, if it's an 100% your fault accident, your renewals for a bike or car, if you switch, will be eye watering. :(

I just don't see how I can prove it's her fault. admittedly trying to overtake Simone indicating right there would be suicide so maybe that will be in my favour cause you'd have to be an idiot to try

well she wouldn't have knocked you off if she was indicating, only a fool would overtake someone who was

it will be tricky proving it but I cant see how she can wriggle out of it,she knocked you off at the end of the day,she should be had for careless driving imo

yeah i hope so.

been speaking to some other bikers from work and one said that under the law its not only a drivers duty to indicate but make sure the indication has been understood,so even if she claims she indicated I'll hopefully still have a chance. I must have been filling the entire view in her wing mirror before she decided she was going to turn though :/

left bicep looks cool, swollen to hell look like i've stolen one of freefallers arms :p that or a very lonely left handed person ¬_¬

Not sure if I should post in this thread or not but since I've already mentioned the accident I guess it's fine?

This is also my first vehicle and I'm quite confused about the whole insurance thing. I was given a contacted by the person driving the van and she asked for my details; Address, Registration, Insurance company number and correspondence number. I asked her for the same, she started to tell me but stopped and said she'd tell my insurance when she contacts them. Not sure if this is odd?

I'm on a TPFT policy. After the call with the van driver I called my insurance company to ask for advice and it seems to have shot off. Before I knew it I had solicitors calling me and had a funny feeling that I hadn't paid for this. Checked over my policy papers and right enough I have no legal protection.

This sounds like it could be expensive, and although I don't think I was at fault, would it be best to just let it go, pay the excess and face higher insurance quotes?
