What did you do to your bike today?

Tightened up both the sparkplugs. The old girl had developed some bogging down/crappy running at low RPMs - must've not fully tightened them down when I stripped it all diagnosing a high RPM problem and they'd worked a little loose.....all good now though. New plugs, plug caps and ht leads ordered today though :)

Found that when BMW repaired it - they not only chewed up the gear lever bolt, to the point it'll need drilling out, but when inspecting pigeon damage this morning; they have also chewed up the fairing torx bolts, ripped a rubber damper on one of the fiaring bolts on the radiator (probably too tight), and completely didn't bother fitting a rear fairing bolt!

Disgusting service - so I've fired off a few complaints

That's why it's always best to do your own maintenance if possible or find a good independent guy who's recommended on the owners forums etc
100% agree - but sadly the great independent bloke I used for servicing it (he truly made the bike run and feel like new!) just hit brick wall after brick wall with the crash repairs - he had no end of issues getting parts from BMW, which is why it ended up going to BMW directly.

It's mad that anyone thinks that's acceptable, they can't go home at the end of the day and feel like they've accomplished anything.
It's what I'd expect from a home bodger.

Totally, and from supposedly trained techs too!

It was a shame that when I picked it up in April, it was lashing it down, so hard to actually give it a good look over at the point it was collected, it wasn't until a week or so after collecting it, that I first noticed the state of the chain - it had been spotless when they had it, but was covered in surface rust! I should have gone straight back at that point, but I was just so glad to have the bike back, I just tried cleaning it up the best I could; but it was never as good as before they had it.

I fired off an email to the Motorrad CEO - Karen style I know, but these days, it's best to go to the top for a resolution; I'd settle for them shipping new bolts and whatnot to me, but I doubt I'll get an answer. At times like this, I wish I was on 'social media' as it seems the only other way to get a response

Hope you get it sorted mate.

Replaced the spark plugs, spark plug caps and ht leads, then balanced the carbs, which were about an eight of a turn out. Bike's running a treat....... *touches wood*

Hah, you've jinxed it now mate. Managed to get out for a few hours today, had a few errands to run so took the street triple out. Lovely day for it too

So the XJ6N was collected for the buyer on Monday evening. It was sad to see it go :( Such a great little bike and I still enjoyed it massively.

On Thursday a girl from work (yes, kinda have a crush on her) said she was desperate to go on the back. I told her her timing was (almost) awful seeing as we've hung out a lot in the past year, but fortunately I managed to source a helmet for her to borrow (Caberg Duke II, which was really comfortable to be fair. Nice helmet) So we went for a ride around the Lincolnshire roads on Sunday evening via a couple of pubs.

So, for the first time in 10 years I'm without a motorbike!

Yes yes, whatevs, are you seeing her again? :D

Quick 20 miles before the little one went to bed, to start scrubbing in the new Road 6s - completely different feel to the M9RRs, so I will need to double check the pressures tomorrow. They don't feel bad at all, just different - more planted, on rails, and less flighty than the Metzelers; maybe it was just the feeling of grip on the B roads I ride

I really wasn't happy with the sound of my new(ish) can, so chucked some Viagra in the tank and magically it's grown 4"!

It sounds way less like a wet fart now, and more sports bike.
Also BMW's thrust acoustics sound a little more acceptable now, although I'll stick the baffle in as I nearly gave some old dear a heart attack earlier when riding home :D

Took a punt on a super cheap (£27.99) seat cowl on the bay, and not only did it arrive in 8 days from China, the paintwork is surprisingly good, as is the fit (although I'll fettle it a little bit).
Only took a few minutes to swap the lock barrel over and fit the supplied brackets etc..
