What did you do to your bike today?

Rear shock adjuster is seized on 21 plate Versys 650. Luckily bought the 2 year extended warranty.

Now booked in to dealer to have it sorted.

Edit - because I bought extended warranty it's free instead of £2500 + fitting cost for replacement rear shock.
The £300 or whatever it cost for extension has paid itself back.

Ive just bought the 2 years extra warranty for my Ducati, 4 years of worry free(ish) riding is great piece of mind :)

I traded one liability for another, worse condition liability with more cylinders :D

Didn't really do anything myself, except say goodbye albeit remotely. We're away on holiday and the people of "Pikesville" came last night and nicked it. Bye by MT-09.

We have it on CCTV but not expecting so much as a phone call from the cops. I guess it'll be dumped somewhere for a few days to check for a tracker- Worcester Park (London) area, LF65LZC.

Fitted a screen the other day - the job should have been 3 bolts and easy peasy - same process as my two 765s.... But, a previous keeper rounded off a hex head!

Tried everything from trying to hammer in a flat head, through screw/bolt extractors, even to trying to weld (with epoxy) a sacrificial bit into the hole; alas nothing worked. So I opted to snap the trim off (planning to source a replacement from the bay).... sadly not only did trim snap, but so did a bit of the metal clock/nose mount too oops.

When I finally got to the back of the bolt, I had to use penetrant spray on it, and mole grip the thread to undo it - even then, it was a helluva job! No idea why this one bolt was so stiff, there was no sign of any locker on it, nor corrosion.

All went back together OK, and it's still sturdy with the two bolts holding the nose on.

Also took the reflectors off the forks:

I put the tank on, put some fuel in, hooked the fuel up, adjusted my new cables, and charged the battery aaaaannd no start. Checked plugs. Wet, but black. Checked spark, none on either, via either lead... New plugs ordered and pilot screws half a turn in.

My neighbours enjoyed watching my son and his friend pushing me up and down the hill trying to bump start it.

Gutted, where was it stored?
Front garden, under two covers, chained to the house with an Almax S3 (£200 of chain right there- suspect they nicked that too). Must have made a racket for a fair while to cut through it.

All the security was as per the insurance schedule, so fingers crossed they don't make it too much of a battle. The real shame of it is it had a Steve Jordan tune, full system, Woolich Race Tools, quickshifter/blipper, nice rearsets, rear shock upgrade and a bunch of other bits, none of which will be reflected in the payout.

They even nicked the battery maintenance charger. Hope it burns their house down :D

Really sorry for you mate. You have to wonder whether they knew you would all be away? e.g. did you get an Uber or taxi to the airport and someone passed on that information.

Thanks mate, we did drive to the airport and park, so there's one less car than usual, so it's possible they noticed that. There's footage of two of them arriving a few hours earlier to check it out, then returning en masse to nick it, so it could also be random. The Sutton gangs periodically raid the surrounding areas.

Police don't even want to see the footage....

Trying to find positives, right next to it is my '91 CBR600, which was the first bike I owned, then sold, regretted and subsequently found for sale years later. I'd have been more gutted if they'd taken that, despite it being valueless.

They didn't even try the door on the secure-a-bike shed housing the S1000RR!
