What do you think of the 4070Ti?

when you factor in DLSS3 etc.

Warning , do not drink the Nvidia coolade. It will rot your brain and make you think $800 for a $500 gpu is a good deal.

For most generations , not the 2080 Turing fiasco, the new cards were slotted into the existing pricing structure so you would get a better gpu for similar money and hence better value. That is not now the case and if you want more performance they are demanding more money for it.

I have a 7900xtx I will put into my WC loop so I am done buying gpus for the next 4 years but for anyone else in the market sit tight for 6 months and see what NV and AMD do with the pricing structure.

DLSS 3 and FSR 3 with fake frame generation is something I will never use. Good for consoles but for PC gaming go F yourselves Nv/AMD.

I hate to say it, but when somebody says "fake frame" I tend to assume they haven't actually seen a 4000-series card in action and have just watched a bunch of youtubers.

And we all know that £800 will actually be £850-950. There is even talk of one being over £1000.

At this rate I'm going to be able to afford a 4020.

Yeah, like i said i have a 2070 Super, i'm wondering what i can get for between £450 and £500 that will beat it substantially? IE make it worth the outlay.

4070? £700
4060Ti? £600
4060? Well that's £500, maybe.... for 3070 performance, i didn't buy one of those because for £500 its only 25% faster than what i have, its not worth it.

An interesting stand point when by your own words you have paid 12-1300 on what should be a 7-800 quid. Not saying you shouldn't have but by that action you are agreeing somewhat that GPU price/perf has gone up.

This is the US pricing for he Asus cards.

4070ti TUF 12G $799 - Most likely limited amount available and will never be restocked once sold.
4070ti TUF O12G $849
4070ti Strix 12G $949
4070ti Strix O12G $ 1049 ......... WTF?

I paid £1050 for 7900xtx MBA on release day. Yes I know I overpaid and should have waited for 6 months but I paid the early adopter tax and have to live with it. I will be stripping the cooler off for a waterblock but my cooler does seem to be working ok and I have a card with no coil whine so I am not giving it up.

I do not think price/performance has gotten better for us the consumers. It used to be an exponential increase in cost to get a better tier of gpu but that is now more of a linear increase and the value in the mid to low range is being eradicated.

What are they going to charge for the 128bit bus width 4060 ? looks like it will be over £500 and thats obscene for a gpu that will be under 200mm^2.

Turing was a fiasco but this generation is something else man. Words cannot describe what is happening.

It does produce great entertainment especially when people try to justify this mess.

I guess it's not fun if you really need to upgrade your GPU but I would rather quit PC gaming than give those scumbags some cash.

Agreed, price/perf has gone sideways pretty fast.

Like you say though, early adopters tax and you're happy with your purchase. Seems this is where we're at with it all.

Wouldn't they have to use a 96bit bus if they wanted to keep the memory at 12gb? like the 3060 unless they plan to cut that as well.

Used card with little or no warranty and an unknown history.
I'm ok with taking a chance on used GPU's, but not for £450.

Edit: i would have to know the person i'm buying it from.
Most people in MM would be happy to assist with warranty and some cards have 5 years so would still have plenty left, that's absolutely what I'd be doing if I had £450 to spend on a GPU in these times.

4060 will have 8gb apparently. 128bit memory bus was only ever for budget orientated cards but now it seems Nv are making them mainstream.

Probably following in AMDs footsteps, I wonder if they will cut the pcie down to X8 as well just to save a few more quid.

Oof, 800 notes for a 70 series. Still on my £250 Vega 56 from like 3 years ago. Nvidia would be daft to not charge dckhead money if they keep selling. Even back in the day with rebadging shenanigans at least there was value to some of the mid-range offerings.

This is easily the longest I've been without an upgrade, I just don't see the value in it anymore. These kinds of prices to play console ports that are either ;

A: Stuttery messes at launch until a patch comes out
B: Denuvo riddled
C: GAAS skinner boxes

I'd rather become an alcoholic.
