What do you think of the 4070Ti?

If the market is being manipulated then AMD are just as guilty since they’re unable to offer a better cheaper card for the money! It may well be manipulated since between those two companies they have an effective duopoly.
Yes they are as guilty, AMD are not consumer friendly on price anymore that is exactly right.

They have all shifted to profit and growth based on margin instead of volume and the only way you can defeat that as a consumer is not buy into it, you stick with or purchase used items or you buy based on need not want.... and boy do these companies invest a lot of time and effort making you want to buy the stuff that yields the highest margins.

But if you need a new video card then I don’t think it’s helpful or fair telling anyone who does buy a new GPU that they’ve been “brainwashed by Nvidia “ for paying the current market price!
ah but I didn't say though did I, what I said was in response to your comment on having to make comparisons based on what is available in the market right now... that's the brain washing

if you need a GPU then you need a GPU, you have choices including the used market not playing at 4k and expecting 120fps etc etc

I don't buy into this DLSS crap to be honest or any of that. IMO it makes games look worse from what I've tried. Native res for me..
you got to get used to it.. its going to play a big role in the move towards 8k.. i mean amd might perhaps build a 2kw card (with premium components and a densely populated board ofc) but nvidia surely is looking for more elegant solutions

Yep damn these frigging prices - now even on mid tier ****..!
Wonder what the 4060 will go for, and how it performs. I really need to upgrade my old 2060S, but what the hell to do with these awful pricing :/

A buddy bought a 3080ti for cheap - pre owned, so thats maybe were I sould be looking right?
But that also means no DLSS3 - frame generation ..Damnit!
Yeah I went from a 2080>3070>3080 used for £540 I don't really want to give Nvidia a penny until they let off with their greed. A used 3080-3090 or 6800-6900Xt would be a decent upgrade for a resonable price.

Or taking a warning shot at Nvidia before they do an EVGA on them too.. ;) Smells like AIB's are at their wits end with this generation.

Time will tell.

Haha. Or that.

Yeah, I mean for sure their sales numbers will be much lower this gen. So unless Nvidia is sharing some of that extra margin with them, then they are getting screwed over.

But I think taking such warning shots at Nvidia won't end well for anyone. Not that I am bothered about MSI, they are just as dodgy.

Easier said than done though, in some cases, the basic bro's on ebay are still bidding up 3090's to over a grand because they have not realised there are newer cards out.

I lusted after a EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hydro Copper for a while (24G-P5-3989-KR) because all the issues had been sorted on that PCB but, even 2 years later I can't find one for sale. Says a lot about how many actually made it out of the factory door.

The ASRock 6900XT's Gibbo had for sale the other week would have been a decent shout as people asking for over 800 still for the Tier 1 6900XT cards on ebay (for sealed cards).

I just looked on the 'Rainforest US' best sellers listing for GPU's.

1, RTX 3060
2, RTX 3060Ti
3, RTX 3060
4, RTX 3060Ti
5, RX 6700XT
6, RX 580
7, RTX 4090
8, RTX 2060
9, RTX 2060
10, RTX 3060

The highest ranking Ada, other than the 4090 is the Zotac Gaming RTX 4080 at No: 74, the first RDA3 GPU is the XFX Merc RX 7900XT at No: 49

The 4070Ti is not in the top 100.
One is no.17 in UK new releases, maybe because it has just been released, you know like in the past few days

In the US which you used ??? 4 in the top 10 of new releases are 4070TI.

Interesting.
I wasn't sure what was going to happen. Each tier card kinda has it's own group of enthusiasts. I wasn't sure whether the class of 70 nerds were going to be all over the ti or not.
I gotta say for me in many respects the 70ti is a worse buy than the 80. Although it's cheaper the crippled RAM is too much of a death sentence for it to be worth anything at all to me. I honestly don't think I would buy one if even if it was £400 cheaper.

I am mixed on it. Some games definitely benefit from it but others don't. It's a handy tool to have. I am very dubious about DLSS 3 though. I really don't like the idea of made-up frames. It may look like a 60hz game but whats the point if its responding like a 30hz game? My fear would be that DLSS2 automatically gets replaced by DLSS3 without giving us choice.

I saw a review of the latency and it doesn't correspond to twice as much latency, I think about 20% max.
