What film did you watch last night?

Personally I enjoyed Dredd - it was never going to be an Oscar winner but it definitely did what it said on the tin for my money!

My only criticism would be that the story was a bit on the "light" side - some random building with bad guys in it - now I didn't read the comics but dont the movies usually concentrate on the main characters "nemesis"??

Now you see me...

4/10

Mediocre at its best, for me. It was mildly entertaining but at a fairly pedestrian pace. I enjoy Morgan Freeman but as superb an actor he is I do think that he tends to pop up in some otherwise poor quality films, a bit like Robert De Niro imo.

Glad that we saw it on Orange Wednesday as I would have been a bit miffed to have paid full price for this.

Dredd 3D (Blu Ray watched in 2D) - 7.5/10

Thoroughly enjoyed this Film. Urban put in a very good performance as Dredd.

Even if you don't like the film it is still more deserving than a 2/10.

Evil Dead (2013) - 7/10

Not as good as the first, well in my opinion anyway. There is more in this remake and the additions work well.

I don't seem to remember seeing...
The bird in the cellar singing we're gonna get you... but it was in the trailers.

The bit was in there where she goes mad and says how they will be all dead.

Watched a few in the last few days:

Aliens: Classic; 10/10.

End of Days: Alright; Gabriel Byrne as Satan is excellent, I love the character but the film is not that good.

Magnum Force: I haven't seen Dirty Harry but this film is good.

On the way from an online store are: Dirty Harry; Hang 'Em High; Law-Abiding Citizen; Money Train; Drop Zone. :D

Went to the cinema yesterday.

Monsters University - 9/10. Really loved this movie. Excellent Pixar prequal. Helps establish Mike and Sullys backstory and has a good mix of humour and emotion.

Pacific Rim - 8/10. A pretty solid summer action blockbuster. Giant robots battling giant monsters in a homage to old Godzilla movies. Whats not to love?

The Bling Ring

Sofia Coppola did not deliver for me. I thought it was vacuous rubbish. Poor acting and nothing actually happened in it. I watched it thinking perhaps it was going switch gears after a while, but it never did.

2/10
