What film did you watch last night?

The book of eli, a complete waste of time imo trying to be smarter than it can pull off, some ham acting by some previously great actors and a story that completely contradicts itself, avoid.

Watched Saw 6, definitely fighting with 4 as the worst of the six films.

I thought 5 however was quite good which peaked my interest for 6.

Seven is on the horizon for next year. Think that one *must* have to be the end of this story.

I would give it a 5/10.

Identity. John Cusak was superb; everyone else was a bit... meh. Great premise; flawed execution. Still a good movie. 7/10.

^^^ Had Girls Aloud in though? :P

Watched Waiting... after reading it on here. Had just got in at midnight after work so not the best time to watch it but a giggle none the less but short. Liked it though and very easy watching. 6/10

Went to see Avatar last night, wasn't looking forward to it for the huge over-exposure it has gotten.
The story is pretty lackluster and predictable but i still quite enjoyed it, glad i saw it at the cinema don't think it would have worked as well otherwise.

Son Of Rambow.

Clearly not a bad film, but the fact that I grew up in that era meant that I was constantly having my disbelief unsuspended by mannerisms, attitudes and scenes that I couldn't align with my own memories.

It didn't help that the part of schoolboy Lee Carter seemed to have been written for a thirty year old man from the 2000s, something only compounded by the 'Drama School Southern Scallywag With Clarity Of Diction' delivery.

Eric Sykes' cameo was a welcome surprise :)

I think the next time I want to wallow in my 80s childhood, I'll watch This Is England again instead.

If you didn't live through the 80s however, you'll probably be more open to the heartwarming charm of this film :)

Pan's Labyrinth.

Excellent film. Had no ideas what it was about, didn't even know it was in Spanish. Just heard it was one worth watching. Glad I did, was quite a moving film.

Isn't it just. I didn't know anything about it first time I saw it, but the film really draws you in. And the ending... bittersweet. Shed quite a few tears myself.

Sherlock Holmes.

Thoroughly enjoyed this to be honest and thought the fight scene's were immense.....not a movie for the sherlock holmes purists mind you.

Blade Runner.

Had never watched it before. Thought it was ok and can understand taht it would have been a lot better when initially released.

I had to sit through this at the cinema as I promised my son I'd take him to see it.... never again is all I can say lol.

The Boat That Rocked

I won't delve too much into this one, but in a nutshell it's about a group of rock/pop DJs having fun on a boat anchored in the North Sea that the British Government want to ban and the things they get up to onboard.

It's cheesey, and hilariously predictable in places, but I still had a massive grin on my face at the end.

It was actually a lot better than I expected. I'd heard good things, but for some reason I have a slight aversion to things that throw-back to that era. Exceptions of course now being this, and Blow. If they're done right, they're fantastic but when done wrong, it's just horrible.

Definitely one to lighten up a miserable afternoon.

7.5/10

Friday 13th pt7 The New Blood

well sort of watched it. I couldn't bear to sit through the actual film ('nearly' the worst in the series). I just wanted to watch all the deleted gore (in workprint form) and came away with the thought 'Oh my God how tame was that!'

1 outta 10

This was pretty good part of the series I thought, what with her having psychic powers (I'm a sucker for these, Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm street). That said nothing beats the original or part four.
