What film did you watch last night?

The Prestige.

Very entertaining, a great plot and a well made movie.

Funny that - I just watched that the other night as well on Blu-ray - really a very entertaining movie.

Last night I watched Blade Runner the directors cut (which looks stunning on Blu-Ray - the remastering is really quite good) and also part of Iron Man.

Hi all,
Hit up the iplayer the other day for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion ,The Witch, and The Wardrobe, it was ok, but far to much to fit into one film (felt rushed) and then The Incredibles which I actually really enjoyed.

I watched Children of Men the other night on ITV. First time I have seen it since going to the cinema.

Some of it is extremely well done, well filmed and has some real moments of quality. But it wasn't as good as I remembered from seeing it originally.

Had an afternoon/evening at home alone yesterday, so watched all three Pirates of the Carribean movies. Watched all three Bournes on Sunday.

Watched Law abiding citizen was quite entertaining and i totally didnt expect a certain incident involving a mobile phone i jumped out of my seat litterally

Zombieland 6.5/10

Fantastic blood, guts and gore. Woody Harrelson plays a great but slighty nuts zombie killer. Plot is as basic as they come but that's to be expected.

Bill Murry's cameo is classic :)

Yeah it was a bit of a strange ending, but still a very good film.

Dont get me wrong - it was a fantastic film - thoroughly enjoyed it until it suddenly stopped!?!? I was watching it on a flight and I seriously thought something had gone wrong with the in-flight entertainment and I'd missed 20-odd minutes and jumped straight to the credits!

Payback (Mel Gibson)

Watched the Directors cut by mistake... forgot that (imo) it is vastly inferior to the theatrical version.

The transfer to Bluray is fantastic tho..

The Hurt Locker directed by Katheryn Bigelow

I thought it had the potential to be such a good film, screenplay and performances were top notch, but the way it was shot!? I was expecting a lot of handheld scenes but handheld for establishing shots and simple 2 way conversations accompanied by non-stop crash zooms!? Use a god damn tripod woman and learn to keep away from that zoom button more often!

The sniper and finale suicide bomber scenes were great and showed what she can do, can understand why she didn't win best director. For me, not as good as the critics made out, I'll stick with Band of Brothers!

7/10

Deliverance.

Obviously a classic film, I hadn't seen it before, in fact the closest thing I had seen to it was when South Park did *that* scene using George Lucas :D

It was fantastic to see Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight and Ronny Cox in their formative years, I imagine this film helped a lot with their careers. I don't really have much to say for the film, it set the scene very well, I certainly don't want to end up in redneck country by myself any time soon :p

Frost/Nixon, which I was very pleasantly surprised by. Very interesting to see David Frost portrayed in a way I've never known him, the events of the film being before my time. The two leads were very strong.

What's the pace of that like? I've had it for a while but not got around to watching it because I've never been in the mood. Is it the bulk of it the interviews or is it flashbacks/any action at all?

The Hurt Locker

On recomendation from this thread.

Meh. It was alright. Nice to see a different approach to the trusty Iraq/Afghan War than the usual "WOOO USA RULES *ratatatatatatatat* WOOO GIT SOME!" but it still felt a little empty. I got it, I understood the ending and everything, but I don't know.
