What film did you watch last night?

:D

Look, this is the "what film did you watch last night" we talk about films in here, stay out if you don't want to see people talk about films and what happens in them ;)

I'm not "going to be more careful" as "the metal flower" is hardly telling you what happens in the film ect ect...

You can take what you want from " the metal flower "

Harry Potter dies for a chapter in the last book, that is a spoiler.

Yeah, well I don't give a crap about Harry Potter. I do care about District 9 though.

If it's not ruining anything for me, I'll take your word for it this time, and will 'calm down' but you must understand why I reacted the way I did.

Take a step back and remember what type of film District 9 is (I've heard enough on this front). Now, imagine you haven't seen it and then someone mentions a 'metal flower towards the end'; it send your mind rushing into all corners finding possible connections such as the ones I mentioned above.

It may not be, but on this occassion it certainly isn't a huge leap of faith to assume that is something important.

As I said, when it comes to films I really want to see, I'm one of those people who want to go into the film knowing next to nothing. It'd be different if I'd seen the film and were discussing it with you. But by implication as you've referred to something in the film (to which only those who'd have seen it would understand), it's good form to just give a little head's up for potential spoilers.

Technically not last night, but I watched a cracking little film on Sunday night called Adam and Paul.

It was surprising to see something of this quality while just flicking through the channels. Its based on a day in the life of two heroin addicts in Dublin.

Truly amazing film, its got involving characters, emotion and a lot of comedy elements. I preferred it to trainspotting as its more believable and a lot more realistic, kind of like a documentary.

9.5/10

Arw Nix got upset.

If you "really" want to see this film, what stopped you seeing it at the Cinema? or getting it on DVD?

IF I was giving away a spoiler I'd have said, I'm not so "take a step back".

Life got in the way and it still does, but that's actually none of your business.

I have my reasons. If it was the Sixth Sense you were openly talking about, I'd have no qualms but District 9 has only really just come out on DVD.

My point is, it doesn't matter if it is a genuine spoiler or not (it's good that it isn't because otherwise I really would be annoyed).

My point is that it's content of the film, and therefore shouldn't be branded about like it's common-knowledge. Likewise, the nature of the 'metal-flower' is open to serious interpretation due to the theme of the film. It may be irrelevent but a 'metal flower' in District 9 has all the hallmarks of being something significant.

Think before you post in future.

Like I said, IF it was a spoiler I'd have said, it isnt' so chill out keyboard warrior.

"genuine spoiler or not" so if it's not a spoiler, which it isn't why are you getting upset? :p

I do love the condescending " Think before you post in future " :D

Take your own advice, "take a step back" and "think before you post in future" :)

No, because you're still missing the point.

I had no way of knowing that was a non-spoiler did I?

Think about it: a metal-flower in District 9... towards the end.

To someone like myself who hasn't seen the film, that certainly has all the hallmarks of being a very big spoiler.

If you'd have taken two seconds to realise that connection, you'd have seen why I got 'upset'.

That's why I'm telling you to think, because all this could've been avoided by you realising that and editing your post accordingly.

Give it a rest Nix.

IF it was a spoiler I'd have said, so you should treat it as not being a spoiler, but no, you got upset and eraged.

Oh pack it in you two :p

Tummy, be careful with potential spoilers in the future - it can be incredibly annoying with people giving anything away no matter how trivial it might seem. I was almost annoyed when somebody said "yeah, I saw the ending a mile away", because it changes how you approach the film.

Nix, don't worry about the flower, it really has nothing to do with anything significant in the film and it's about as much of a spoiler as saying 'one guy wears a red suit'. Accordingly you can't really be peeved in this circumstance, but I can appreciate your irritation.

Now kiss and make up :p

Totally loved that film, so tragically funny and completely agree about the Trainspotting comment.

Thought the final gesture made it so authentic. ;)

"Aaaaaaaaargh me ******* leg!" :D

Looks good and although I haven't seen "Adam and Paul" yet, you might like "Garage" from same writer/director pairing.

From Hell.

The clues in the title, virtualy everything that takes place in this film, you could call it 'from hell'.

If your looking for a film that rips right through you, it's a must see, it's a horrible watch.
