What film did you watch last night?

12 Years A Slave. It was good. I think it's a bit cheap people on here giving it flak saying its Oscar bait or whatever, because by that token you can never make a film about any major historical issues.

I didn't like Brad Pitt turning up. I think by this stage in his career I can't see the character, I just see Brad Pitt. It's jarring.

Runner Runner

6/10

Was watchable I guess, nothing amazing.

Pretty flat.

Like yourself watchable but dead on average. The advert for the dvd encouraged me to give it a go. Thinking swordfish pretty much all the way through it, ten times more meat on the bone.

Myself, Muntiny on the Bounty. Fell asleep half way in as allways, but the brando 62 remake iv'e seen many times, top film.

Divergent

Not bad, not good. A crap Hunger Games rip-off (yay Young Adult fiction!) packed with teen-love music designed to grab the tween crowds short attention span? But still entertaining I thought

5/10

Last Vegas - Basically think toned down "Hangover" for the sixty/seventy year olds.

Pretty funny in places, good cast made it more watchable (De Niro, Freeman, Michael Douglas and that other guy)

Enjoyable film 7/10

Captain America: The First Avenger

As I have only actually watched the first 2 Iron Man films, I thought it time to get up to speed and ideally watch all the Marvel films in 'chronological' order, including the Agents of Shield TV show.

I passed on CA originally as I find his comics really dull in comparison to most, but if I owned a hat, I would be eating it right now.

Thoroughly enjoyable film, way better than I expected, and it has gotten me pretty amped to get through all the films now :D

8/10

Wow, trailer looked good, actual film was pretty cheesy typical stuff you'd guess from a mile away happening.

Ben Affleck was by far the best character to watch, which is saying something.

people reviewing divergent can you please post your age and gender.

Seriously,I keep hearing it's crap and worse than the hunger games which isn't exactly amazing anyway.

but if it's actually a decent movie I might be tempted to watch it

Each to their own and all that, I actually enjoyed it, I thought visually in some aspect the whole layout of the city was quite enjoyable.

Then again I have only just managed to grab the hunger games (which I haven't seen yet) so I guess I don't have anything to compare it to yet, but I thought it was a pretty decent film.

I enjoyed it - 8/10 - a good cast, some good singing, and although it was a totally predictable story line that's been done a thousand times before, a good way to spend a Sunday evening chilling on the sofa!

Lone Survivor (2013)

Such an epic film  and based on true events! Incredible. One of the best gunfights I've ever seen. The latter half of the film reminded me of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid :p ... but infinitely grittier and intense.

Everyone who appreciates war films and realistic combat should watch it.

I'm not a massive fan of any of the Marvel type films, but dont dislike them either. I watched this recently and honestly thought it was the worst one that I've seen. I thought it was an 'okish' bit of mindless soft action/ entertainment (6/10). Each to their own I guess :p

Dallas Buyers Club - An exceptional film, powerful, funny, sad, even inspiring. McConaughe and Leto are outstanding, the cast is not too far behind. Direction and filming are very good. A filmy worth of all its praise, nominations and awards. 9/10
