What film did you watch last night?

I watched this not too long ago. I was really torn between thinking this film was really good and bad. I thought the acting/ characters were really good but at the end of the film, I kind of thought.....was that it????

As for me, last night -

Alien 3

Part of my mission to watch all of the Alien films all of the way through as I had only previously dipped in and out of them years ago. Despite 3 not being universally liked as much as the previous 2, I thought it was ok 6/10.

Alien 7/10 - Not a great film but way ahead of its time and have to give it cred.
Aliens 8/10 - Decent film, improvement on the first and much more intense.
Alien 3 6.10 - Ok film, but not really necessary (created a story out of nothing so to speak).

Alien 3 by Fincher is visually stunning I thought, did not have the strongest story but I still enjoyed it. Aliens will always be my childhood favourite.

Closed Circuit with Eric Bana. 6/10

Watched it on Sky Movies, its a twisty government conspiracy terror plot thingy set in London. It's visually ok, script is fine and even though the plot entirely predictable it's 90 mins of decent entertainment that will leave you satisfied but not wanting a second viewing.

Minus points are Eric Bana's British accent, the bog standard love interest thing that every film feels the need to insert and the not so twisty twists.

Just wait till you see Resurrection, if you thought 3 was bad.

Are you including the Alien vs Predator films in your quest?

I didn't think 3 was bad. 6/10, average entertainment/ action flick. Yes I've heard rumours about ressurection lol. I've already watched the alien vs predator films (well at least one of them, not exactly memorable).

problem is that its so wrapped up in the avengers now that whenever something happens that puts them in trouble your always thinking "Why not call stark and get iron man on the case"

if you remove all the avengers from your mind id give it a 6/7 out of 10.

Heh, that's exactly what I thought!

Still enjoyed it though, like I do most Marvel stories.

Iron Man 3 - finally got round to watching. It's ok, all very stupid with the genetic mutation thing going on etc but RDJ is always watchable and some funny one liners.

6/10 for me. 1st was the best by far!

Noah - ladies choice. Complete garbage. 2/10 I liked the rock things

District 9 - my choice although she fell asleep before they even go to D9. Always worth a watch 8/10

De Ja Vue - 7/10 slightly hokey premise but Tony Scott and Denziel Washington films are all awesome in my eyes.

Working my way through the Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection:cool:

Many I've seen before but the addition of behind the scenes documentaries and the re-mastered quality has added even more to an already amazing collection:)

Well I've reached Psycho:eek::o

Duck Marion!!! Duck!

If you get the chance I recommend watching the accompanying documentary it's excellent:cool:

All Is Lost
6/10
I expected this to be a R.Redford tour de force, but it was a little flat.
The main problem was that he was silent for the whole film.
If only he had talked to himself, it would've at least given the audience an insight into his thought processes.

Non Stop
8/10
Enjoyable.
It had me at the edge of my seat.
No complaints.
I do love movies based on planes - Flight Plan was a great movie, too.

Got all is lost to watch. Shame it's not as good as I was hoping.

I also share your love of plane movies. I also enjoyed a film called turbulence although I've not seen it in years.

A film on real life events with just under 3,000 dead, is a load of American….

Seriously?… It was anything but garbage. It felt quite emotional and uneasy seeing it back in 2006. Let alone the people who have to live with their lost ones their entire lives. Even some died from all the dust and developed cancer and other illnesses. One singer died from this. Donna Summer…

Summer died on May 17, 2012, at her home in Naples, Florida at the age of 63. She was diagnosed with lung cancer. She believed she developed the illness by inhaling toxic particles following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.

That maybe true, but he's right in his own views, if he didn't think much to it that's his choice, for me I new what type of movie it be and how it would try to influence people, so I didn't even bother to even consider watching it.

Agreed - Noah = pants, I'd put it on the bad side of 1/10 (5 being average, not 7.5). District9 was great a firm 7.5/10.

I'd give The Grand Budapest Hotel a great 8/10. Loved it - fast, funny and even the actors seemed to have fun doing it. Drink beer, watch, laugh. :D

12 years a slave.. hmm probably 6/10. It was watchable but I didn't connect with any of the characters.. so I found myself watching time. She thought it wasn't as good as book.

Zero Theorem - skewbald view of the world.. although not nearly as good as Brazil.. 5/10.

Yep, seriously. I got half way through and then fast forwarded it to see what happened. The whole film was based on them being stuck in rubble the whole time.... there are soooo many other angles they could have based the film on. I wanted to see the dilemma's faced by those trapped above the impact. Those who faced the choice of fire or jumping from the tower, I wanted to see portrayals of onboard the flights and the decisions the government/military were having to make...

but no... the story was some focus on the families and the rest set in rubble. Hence my disappointment.
