What film did you watch last night?

Iron Man 3

Better than 2, not as good as 1. I don't why, but it just didn't really grab me.

I was very annoyed when they found out that The Mandarin was fake, but thankfully the 'All Hail The King' one-shot fixes that :D
Wish they hadn't used Extremis as the name for the treatment though, I woudl prefer to see the actual Extremis from the comics in movie form.

I don't pirate all films, I do actually enjoy going to the cinema and do quite often, I wasn't aware they had made a number 3 until I saw the torrent for it.
 
Guardians of the Galaxy.

Loved it, 9/10, would have been 9.5 but knocked off .5 because of the stupid end of credits scene, seriously do not bother hanging around for it!

I watched this yesterday and while I thought it was OK I felt the movie didn't really have highs and lows, just went along at a steady pace. There were a bunch of kids at the front who laughed twice but remained silent the whole other time. Personally, besides the cool CGI and some funny moments I thought it was a 5/10 at best.
 
Captain america 2: The Winter Soldier

Solid film, decent story, links well with the tv series, shakes things up for the future. All a good bit of fun. Good CGI, nice action scenes.

American Hustle. I liked it. Great acting. The plot was a bit complex, and I nearly got lost for a couple of minutes, but it came together.

PS Hercules - 5/10 for the first hour - I like how they took "the legend" and redefined into what is probably more accurate. The acting was passable and the action scenes that I saw were impressive but relatively small scale. I really liked Rufus Sewell's character but the girl and the madman were a bit wasted I thought. Overall I enjoyed it enough to try and see it again but this time at 10am on a Tuesday etc to avoid the scum in Swindon.

Captain America 2 - was really looking forward to this but it just didn't deliver for me. Don't know why but after it ended I was very unimpressed. Half the male cast seemed to be wearing far to much mascara and lippy. 6-10

Amazing Spider-Man 2 - opposite to above. I wasn't looking toward to this. Spidi is my fave superhero. I'd heard not so good things about this but was very pleasently suppressed. Great cgi. Early spidi film were a blured mess in the action scenes. Here ever frame is sharp. Sound is amazing as well. A true blockbuster. 8-10

New Transformers, special effects were awesome and the lass playing Wahlberg's daughter is tasty, I enjoyed it despite the critics giving it a bit of a hammering.
 
Watched Noah last night. Actually quite enjoyed it on the whole. Certainly more than I was expecting to. I am also a big Russell Crowe fan so that helps. However once I realised how much it was just vegan propaganda it did kind of ruin it for me a bit. Maybe a 6.5/10 I'd have rated it higher if it wasn't for the whole vegan thing.

I watched this not too long ago. I was really torn between thinking this film was really good and bad. I thought the acting/ characters were really good but at the end of the film, I kind of thought.....was that it????

As for me, last night -

Alien 3

Part of my mission to watch all of the Alien films all of the way through as I had only previously dipped in and out of them years ago. Despite 3 not being universally liked as much as the previous 2, I thought it was ok 6/10.

Alien 7/10 - Not a great film but way ahead of its time and have to give it cred.
Aliens 8/10 - Decent film, improvement on the first and much more intense.
Alien 3 6.10 - Ok film, but not really necessary (created a story out of nothing so to speak).
 
Watched Boyhood over the weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will go as far to say its the best film I've seen this year. 10/10

Just wait till you see Resurrection, if you thought 3 was bad.

Are you including the Alien vs Predator films in your quest?
 
The Purge: Anarchy - 5/10

I watched the first when it came out and hated it, worst film of 2013 possibly for me. Watched this last night wasn't expecting much. It was better than the first, but still it was quite bad. Although I like the concept of the 'purge' and everything being illegal for 12hrs, it just did not deliver. Expect this franchise to be milked to death like the Saw trilogy.
