What film did you watch last night?

Neighbours - 2/10
I didn't even make it 30 mins before switching it off, terrible film.

It's a poor movie. No doubt about it.
The neighbours arent actually that bad, story is poor and acting from Seth Rogan and his wife is terrible. I think the director has to take a huge responsibility here.

What did you guys think of shutter island? For those that have seen it obviously.

Might chuck it on soon, but cant't remember if this was the film lots of people said was a pile of ****

I really enjoyed shutter island, in fact, thanks for reminding me. Will watch it this weekend.

Shutter island is fantastic.

Just watched The Terminator as I saw it was on 5 later but would rather watch it in full with no ads and in 1080p.

10/10 a true masterpiece and a classic.

Ended up watching Shutter Island.
Thought it was quite good, felt like a well organized film.
6.5/10*

But I think the big twist was really obvious? I don't know if it's just because of all these twisty films i've seen, but I felt like he had to be insane or else the film wouldn't have been anygood

The Equalizer - 8/10 - Went to see this Saturday at Cineworld with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it, action/fight scenes are sick. Denzel is the man.

22 Jump Street - 6/10 - I remember going to see 21 Jump Street in the pictures when it came out a while back, funny film. This seemed to be similar in terms of story, just different location/setting. Still funny though and I did get a good laugh out of it. Jonah Hill is hilarious.

Awakenings - 10/10 - Watched this last night finally, its been on my 'to watch list' for a while. Such a powerful, moving and brilliant film. The late Robin Williams performance is brilliant as expected and De Niro is on top form, probably up their with one of his best performances.

12 Years a Slave - 8/10
Watched this last night. Great acting and rather shocking. Worth watching just for a bit of modern history.

Although not in the film which is set in the 1800s, it is mind boggling to think that even up to the 1960's black people were treated as almost not human in the US and in South Africa, their own country, up until 1994 !!

For some Scarlett Johansson 'eye candy' maybe watch Under the Skin. Weird weird weird film though I warn you. Or maybe check out the latest Fappening leaks haha

Said it in this thread a few weeks back, after watching Under The Skin she definitely looks better with clothes on, she is nothing special naked.

Yeah, I mean if I came home and found Scarlett Johansson naked in my living room, I'd definitely be telling her to cover up

:p This is sarcasm ...must be
Oh my... I agree with easyrider on a film. I found it tedious, particularly the repetitive forcing of the Equalizer tie in for the first half or so of the film. Pretty much anyone Denzel came in contact with had their life blighted and needed help!

Only once the hero and nemesis came face to face for the first time, did it just become a straight up thriller/action flick that brings it back up to 5/10 for me. And the ending was just daft. The baddie was just too pantomime as well, almost laughed at the scene with his dodgy black felt tip pen tatoos. The Ralphie/Denzel relationship was cringeworthy and Denzel's performance was pretty much just phoned in, just Denzel playing Denzel Washington in any one of his action flicks.
