What film did you watch last night?

Hang on...7500 was supposed to be released years ago, but for some reason or another they kept delaying it, on a monthly basis. Then at the end of the month, it would get a new release date for the next month.

Has this actually been released yet?

Not as good as the original, but It's still a likeable film. No, Catherine Mary Stewart, in this one though. :(

One of the better, Stephen King, adaptions.

Films I've watched this week include:

The Apparition - 2/5
OK horror film. Story line not too bad but acting not great although Ashley Greene was decent eye candy ;)

Hereafter - 3/5
Watchable Paranormal movie with matt Damon. Also nice to see a bit of London in it

Black Gold - 3/5
Interesting take on how the arabs made their never ending billions. Worth a watch

Rosewood Lane - 3.5/5
One of the better films I watched this week. It had me watching until the end

Neighbors
2/10.

Terribly unfunny and the neighbors (frat house), weren't actually too bad.
In a nutshell, the frat house (neighbors) just made a lot of noise, but were actually quite nice people who simply loved to party.

I've seen worse documentaries about bad neighbours on channel 5!.

Moreover, the acting from Seth Rogan and the lady who plays his wife was terrible.
If anybody wants to see a master class in how not to act, please, watch this. Its as if they got a couple of people from the street, gave them lines to read off a piece of paper and asked them to star in this movie, for $10, as thats all the producers had in their pockets at the time.

Zac Efron may have been the only positive in this movie.

Whichever angle you look at this movie from, its bad.

I switched it off after about 20 minutes. Seth Rogen isn't funny, he's irritating - and that pretty much sums up my comments for every film I've seen him in that I can remember. I seem to remember switching Knocked Up off equally as quickly. I'm not sure how I sat through all of This is the End, but that was a load of tripe too.

The Equalizer - 6/10 - Denzel is very good as usual if a little one dimensional but the few scenes he has with Chloe are extremely good and really grab you. Sadly she is hardly used and his other interactions feel very cliché. In fact I feel like almost every action scene in the film I've already seen before in other movies from Home Alone to Mr & Mrs Smith etc. Overall slightly above average.

So recent movies..
Olympus Has Fallen - bit silly but liked it. Fast paced blood and guns.

Godzilla - (the new one) - got about 30 mins into it and got bored. Stopped watching.

Maleficent - Really enjoyed it! Wasn't sure what to expect. Perhaps the twist was a little predictable but still good.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - I'm in the 50% of people who liked it but then I'm not familiar with the short story it's based on. People who have read it say this film is too serious. But it works for me. And lovely cinematography.

Jack Ryan shadow Recruit 9/10
Brilliant film, but can they now please do a series of jack Ryan films please. He's a good actor and young enough.
Rafter than 1 a decade and multiple time lines which don't come together.

Dawn of the planet of the apes.

I was really bored, I'm not entirely sure why, but god. 5/10. I know it's generally well liked, but many parts I was utterly bored, then there would be a very good scene. Then boredom again.

Transformers 4 - I know the story lines have never been good but normally the visuals are amazing.... But does anyone else think that they were not as good as the previous Transformer films?

Star Trek Into Darkness

Très bon! Sweet effects in this, everything looked gorgeous (including Alice Eve).

Loved Sulu's badass speech, as well as Cumberbatch taking out 3 squads of Klingons. :D

9/10

Cumberbatch's voice gives me tingles every time I watch that movie! (nohomo)

I hope the promised 3rd film lives up to this an it's predecessor!

I watched this last and thought it was really good. Although it did feel a bit like standard high budget terrorism movie.

I kind of have to agree, although I wouldn't rate it so low. It did just seem to move at a very slow pace and nothing really happened for 80% of the film. Doesn't really help that there's only two main settings.

I thought it was well acted, the cgi was great and when the film gets it right it's excellent. I'd give it 7/10.

Transformers: Age of Extinction

Where do I start. What a headache, way too much 3D, explosions, effects etc. Weak story too.

I was not expecting much and that's what I got.

What a turd of a film.

4/10
