What film did you watch last night?

Finally got round to watching Guardians of the Galaxy. Great film with a great cast and never a dull moment. Chris Pratt is excellent in the lead role. 8/10.

Mate borrowed me his dvd of source code after id told him id watched edge of tomorrow.

You can sure see where they got their ideas from with the later.

Not nearly as fleshed out, but it tied it up and nice at the end. A bellow average became a slighty above.

In truth not all that exicting.

Arthur C Clarke was responsible for thinking up most of the tech and 'future' worlds in 2001 rather than Stanley Kubrick. And even then it was Just an evolution of other ideas seen in both print and film, such as the Electronic Clipboards in Star Trek TOS.

I particularly like the chapter in the book where he describes in high detail how a toilet can work in space, is that in the film?

In all seriousness, it really is a great book, I should get around to watching the film...

Guadians of the Galaxy, better than I expected I guess, not quite as good as some rate it. 7/10, maybe an 8.

Put the expendables 3 on right after, turned off after maybe 10 minutes and I have no idea how I lasted that long. It's a 0/10 for the first 15 minutes, no good lines, no good acting, no good action, horrendously poor story, awful cgi. Nothing even slightly redeeming about it.

My guess is you didn't watch the previous two films then. If you had, you would have known what you were letting yourself in for. ;)

Guardians of the Galaxy

Bit disappointed actually.
I enjoyed it well enough and it did provide some laughs, but in many of the scenes, I thought the dialogue was poor and I couldn't escape the feeling that I was looking at actors delivering lines on a set, rather than being immersed in the movie.
Good effects though.
Thanos was crap and I don't know why they changed his colour from the post credits scene in the Avengers.

6.5/10 and definitely not Marvel's best movie for me anyway :)

Just got back from seeing Mr turner. What a load of boring ****e. The film looked beautiful and Timothy spall was quite good. But it had no story whatsoever. I honestly couldn't tell you what it was about because nothing happened over the course of nearly 3 hours. Dull dull dull.

4/10

The hunger games

Thought it was ok. Reasonable adventure film, albeit a bit weird. I found the whole futuristic world a bit odd but I suppose that is what they were going for.

I did, and didn't love either previous films compared to many on here. The previous two were just about watchable... when like me you've had 15 years of worsening joints and don't get out much so are bored to death, the first two films are about my base minimum level for actually finishing a film... even if it takes several sittings.

The third film is even worse than those two, not much worse, but enough to cross from barely watchable to would rather claw my own eyes out.

I saw that too - never seen it before (never been interested tbh).

Thought it was pretty weak overall.
Was expecting some kind of plot twist a la Truman Show or the Running Man at the end - but it kind of fizzled out with a really pathetic ending.

The entire motivation for staging the competition was weak as well - just didn't make sense to me.

Started off ok, some decent action, went downhill rapidly in the last 45 mins or so.

I'd give it a generous 4/10.
