What film did you watch last night?

Each to their own, but I don't find her that attractive. Her head is too big for the body. Oh, and too thin! :D

A she with that these days, loved her in hackers though :)

My problem with wanted and maybe someone can clear it up for me is
guy at start of film does some crazy super hero jump between buildings, buckling the elevator as he powers up etc, but the rest of the movie had nothing like that? Lol. Not that I wanted more of it, it just didn't belong at all? why does nobody else have this dudes powers.

The Shining - 8/10.

Great film, if not slightly overrated. Though... My god, Wendy is just SUCH a pathetic character in it. Just her movement and mannerisms drive me round the bend!

Watched the five main X-Men films with my sons over the last few weeks:-

X-Men - the original and good introduction to the mutant world. 4/5

X-Men 2 - the follow up was not as good but still good, something about Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler was brilliant. 4/5

X-Men: The Last Stand - last of the original trilogy seemed a little rushed and unsatisfying to me. 3/5

X-Men: First Class - really liked this origins prequel, was very surprised by Hugh Jackman's language though considering it was a 12. 4/5

X-Men: Days of Future Past - bit of future, past and time travel mixes the old and the new, very well done. Confused my kids though. 4/5

Just got back from watching the new Hunger Games Mockingjay part 1 and I'm massively disappointed 2 hours of drivel. The first 2 were superb this one was a build up to not a great deal, clearly saved all the action for the next episode. 4/10

Based on the short story book called "All you zombies" I can see Predestination being a huge hit for those who like Time Travel sci-fi without the spoonfeeding thrown in and a film that is very clever and makes you think.

C4, Lawless... a good history lesson in 30's moon shining, booze i guess. the only character i liked had his neck/killed snapped by the lead hollywood (always dies at the end) baddy, and yeah he died at the end.

woulda been better like fast n furious lawless, more tuned/modified up 30's cars which is what they did.

no laughs so non human, was too serious so not serious.

Edge of Tomorrow. 7/10

Very much a rip of The Matrix with the Sentinels/Mimics. Also how the final scenes are trying to get to the source and destroying an army in a ship. Also Alphas = Agents and Tom Cruise is The One ;)

Enjoyed it and Emily Blunt is an absolute fox!

I, Frankenstein (2014)

What a short movie. Reminded me of Underworld at times. Some of the cast from it. Though it was a nice dark film but the demons were cheesy.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay PI

Unfortunately this was certainly a "filler" film, the good stuff is left for the final film, which will be insane based on what is left of the story to tell ;)

That said, this film was still good in the respect that it focused more on the politics of Panem, we saw snippets of the revolution albeit I felt they were somewhat forced and could have been implemented better.

There was also some good character development, however it stays true to the book with
Katniss being a mopey mopester moping around

Underwhelming, not bad bad, not amazing. Part II will knock your socks of though, I promise, next November can't come soon enough.

6.5/10

Lucy 1/10

Awful in every single possible way, crappy directing, awful story, awful acting all around, awful writing, awful action.

A film with a premise that could be used for a good story, or action or both and it was just a mess of horribly poorly acted nonsense. THe action was abysmal, the cgi was terrible, the story was terrible. It felt like about 50% of the film was missing but even if it fleshed out the story the rest of this was pure garbage.

Besson doing too many drugs has now completely fried his brain? Thing I don't get is, if you're going for the making zero sense, can't be arsed to make a sensible film mode, why didn't they make the action better and use the powers better. If you throw aside all logic they should have filled it with matrix like fights and her using her powers, instead they had a retarded story and woeful action.

Instead while on the phone she turned on some electrical stuff, and changed her hair style briefly.... the single most boring and poorly done "special powers" film I think I've ever seen.

Mockingjay Part 1 - 5/10

Kept to the books well and wasn't expecting much because of how slow the first half of the book is... They did as well as they could to keep me watching, although still pretty dull. Can't wait for part 2 though.

Yeah, have to agree, I was so looking forward to this when I saw the trailer and thought 'definite addition to the Blu-Ray collection'. Luckily I 'previewed' it from the Jolly Roger site and what a let down...and the ending?! WTF!

Were you expecting Looper? This is actually far more intricate a movie than other time paradox movies. But being based on the story by Heinlein you'd expect that. The IMDB score is bang on. It's definitely a brain = engaged movie, if you found it dull then perhaps this kind of movie isn't your bag :p Yes the first half is almost entirely dialogue but that's for good reason.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 8/10
Quite a few genuinely funny sequences, and the main characters were diverse and played well together, no slow parts and good action. The enemy was incredibly hollow and the main story was entirely forgettable, also the female leads were pants. Also GF fell asleep within 10 minutes though, after half an hour I gave up trying to wake her up - so this is obviously not for anyone

The Imitation Game - 7/10
I would probably rate this a lot higher if I wasn't a bit of a history buff about the topic, and have studied the actual cryptographic methods. If you know a lot about the subject, my advice is to ignore the reality of history when you watch this.
Aside from that, the acting was great, and the play between the personal relationships and the scale of the war was really well though out.
