What film did you watch last night?

Guardians of the Galaxy

Top dollar whizz-bang awesomeness! Drax and Groot had me in stitches at times. :D

I'm such a soppy sap when it comes to emotional movie music, the whole 'we are groot' thing had me welling like a numpty, which is funny as things like the Sainsburys Xmas ad does diddly squat to me.

9/10

My guess is you didn't watch the previous two films then. If you had, you would have known what you were letting yourself in for. ;)

I did, and didn't love either previous films compared to many on here. The previous two were just about watchable... when like me you've had 15 years of worsening joints and don't get out much so are bored to death, the first two films are about my base minimum level for actually finishing a film... even if it takes several sittings.

The third film is even worse than those two, not much worse, but enough to cross from barely watchable to would rather claw my own eyes out.

I literally face plamed when I found out what movie you were discussing.

The Expendables is a 'fun' series at best... it deserves a rating of YEAH or NAAAH. That's it.

Mate borrowed me his dvd of source code after id told him id watched edge of tomorrow.

You can sure see where they got their ideas from with the later.

Not nearly as fleshed out, but it tied it up and nice at the end. A bellow average became a slighty above.

In truth not all that exicting.

The creators of Edge of Tomorrow, didn't get their ideas from Source Code. EoT is based on a book called All You Need is Kill, which was published in 2004.

The film was originally called All You Need is Kill, and they should have stuck with it. Damn Hollywood suits messing around with things in order to get a more child friendly title. :(

Escape Plan (via my Amazon Prime trial)

I quite liked it, until the last 30 minutes or so when it degenerated in to guns and explosions. :( Hardly Citizen Kane, but 6.5/10 seems fair.

The streaming service was pretty impressive though.

Same. That bit got me as well. :o

Just watched Wanted with James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie. Maybe not the most brilliant of movies but I just wanted a mindless and funny movie and this one fit the bill. :)

Did I mention that Angelina Jolie was in it ? :o

:p

Lone survivor.
8/10 very good film, and the ending works very well imo and brings home the tragedy of war.

Really? I mean....really?!?!

I saw this the other night and thought it was terrible! I know there was supposed to be an element of truth in it, but each of them got shot about 10 times before they died, fell about 3 vertical miles before they died and each killed around 50 Taliban members, before one of them was rescued.

all of that happened in real life (according to the man himself, and he was the only survivor so we cant prove him wrong can we :P)

only bit that didnt happen is the gunships wiping out the bad guys at the end - IRL the talibs surrounded the village but wouldnt enter it without the village elders agreeing - who were protecting marcus because of pashtun custom, while marcus got sneaked out to some americans
