What film did you watch last night?

22 Jump Street - 7/10

You know exactly what you're getting with films like this but a solid comedy throughout with some decent laugh out loud moments.

That's harsh for maze runner!! What did you dislike to greatly about it? I don't think it was exceptional by any means, but a 5 or a 6 I'd say

It was just a bit dull really. The acting wasn't that great, the story wasn't particularly good, and the "twist" wasn't unexpected either. The underlying reason for why they are in the maze is quite flimsy too.
although I gather that the real reason apparently comes out later in the books

Maybe I'm too old for these teenagers rebelling against the system type of films :p

Nightcrawler - 10/10 - Brilliant performance by Gyllenhaal.

Out of the Furnace - 9/10 - Great film, second watching of this, great performances by Bale, Affleck and Harrelson.

Transit - 6/10 - Even though it was a short film it still felt too long. However, love Jim Caviezel.

Jack Ryan - 6.5/10 - First 45 minutes bored me to be honest. Then things got interesting and I enjoyed the last 30 minutes.

Night crawler is awesome gets 10/10 from me
without jakes superb performance in that role it would probably have just been an average movie

Under The Skin - 8/10

I actually really enjoyed this. Thought Scarlett was amazing (yes, yes, not just the full frontal...) and the whole film was just so strange and unsettling. It will stick in my mind for some time.

Flight. I thought it was a pretty good film, but not one I would rush to watch again. Denzel washington is brilliant in it.

I thought at times it missed the mark it was trying to hit tbh.

8/10

the only good thing about flight is nadine velazquez's* boobs at the start. the rest is well below average for a denzel film. not even he can save it because the character is so unlikeable.

(*catalina from my name is earl if you don't recognise the name)

Watched sinister and I'd give it 6.5/10
The acting of the wife is truly shocking but liked detective so and so. The home videos were done very well as was the score, in fact I had to check if Trent reznor did the score as its the type of thing he's good at.

Eventually got around to seeing The Expendables 2 Blu-Ray.

Gorgeous looking film with that great feel of the 80s and 90s heroes. Shame Arnie was hardly in it. The old film lines between Arnie and others were terribly cheesy. :D

Hale Caesar: If I don't get this back, your ass is terminated.
Trench: In your dreams.

Trench: I'll be back.
Church: You've been back enough. I'll be back.
[leaves]
Trench: Yippee-ki-yay.

Jean-Claude still is fast with those flexi legs of his.

Such a strange flashback seeing Norris again.

Now to see part 3 soon…
