What film did you watch last night?

Edge of Tomorrow 7/10
Surprisingly enjoyable.

Guardians of the Galaxy 9/10
Just as good as the first time I watched it.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition Blu-Ray

I still can't get over how beautiful let alone the scenery is in these films. Could watch these over and over.

Though, my favourite part had to be the dark gritty build up to Sauron revealing himself. Loved that fight. Creepy the way how Thain was whisked away.

Everything is so beautiful about Middle Earth. Let alone, Evangeline Lilly.

The cinematography is just breathtaking. More so the scenes with Smaug. Absolutely loved it!

Over The Top

Stallone film about arm wrestling.

Been years since I watched it last, it's aged rather well! Thought it would be painful to watch but me and the wife both really enjoyed i. Solid 6/10

Her - Joaquin Pheonix falls in love with a future Siri voiced by (sounding amazing) Scarlett Johansson. Being directed by Spike Jonze (Being John Malcovic) and with the subject matter I knew it would be quirky and entertaining and it was. 4/5

Is it on 1 blue ray or is it still split across multiple disc nonsense?

Watched Black Sea and was surprisingly very good. Judd Law had a dodgy accent but movie was gripping. 8/10 thumbs up

The Pyramid...horror movie from the guy who made Hills Have Eyes.

A few archaeologists find a super size pyramid in the middle of the desert, go in, things go wrong, something starts killing them. Pretty standard stuff but the creature design was superb.

Also stars Jay from Inbetweeners acting like a scared Jay from Inbetweeners.

Just got back from seeing that. Was decent enough, but almost every scare was very predictable.

And I just can't see James Buckley as anything but Jay, hahaha.

Is it on 1 blue ray or is it still split across multiple disc nonsense?

If they didn't split it (or the LOTR extended editions) over two discs, the hardcore would've kicked up a massive stink over them not using a high bitrate/filesize for max image quality. Plus, given how long these films are, a short interlude isn't such a bad thing is it?

'When The Game Stands Tall' 9/10

You don't need to be into American Football to enjoy this movie. Genuinely felt inspired watching it.

Nightcrawler
Knew nothing about it, thought it was going to be an adult romp in the night flick but was shown something else entirely.

Jake deserves a nomination or two at the very least. In this role he's lost weight and looks like how I imagine a younger Willem Dafoe to look!

Superb film, 9/10.

Dying of the light
I've not been too impressed with Nicolas Cage films over recent years and this one isn't amazing but it is better than the others. CIA counter terrorism based and is quite predictable although a twist at the end. Cage plays his usual strange character type he's well known for so if you're expecting that you won't be disappointed I suppose.

Gets a 6/10 from me.

I'll second this, surprisingly good film considering it came out of nowhere. The end was a bit of an anti-climax for me, can't help but feel it was a bit predictable.
