What film did you watch last night?

Creep (second time). Controversial docu-drama about the problems of infrastructure maintenance in the London Underground and sewerage system.

The film's strong political message was interpreted as an attack on the Labour government's mismanagement of the unpopular Public Private Partnership under which the Tube is operated. This led to speculation that funding for Creep had been sourced from Tory lobby groups, a claim which Michael Howard has never explicitly denied.

Tony Blair did not attend advance screenings and later referred to the film as "a work of fiction."

:)

I watched Flash Gordon. You know, the one where Brian Blessed says, "GORDON'S ALIVE?!". :D:cool:

An excellent, tongue in cheek, camp as hell, Queen music'd 80s film. :)

Dorian Gray. A painfully mangled version of Oscar Wilde's classic tale. Colin Firth is brilliant; everyone else is merely adequate.

The scriptwriter should be shot.

28 Weeks Later

Being a big zombie fan and having loved the original film I do enjoy watching this every time. This does mean, however, that I overlook some stupid plot lapses and overuse of Carlyle character which was totally unnecessary and I can't see how anyone would think that it could add anything to the film. I do love the directing and atmosphere the film creates though and it has some really good set pieces in it, such as helicopter scene that still to this day turns me into a neanderthal type who screams "**** yeah!!!" at the screen. So overall an enjoyable package with weak plot and less humanism that the original but still deserving of 7/10.

I enjoyed it a lot. Good start and had a constant tense atmosphere throughout. :)

The problem with 28 Weeks Later was that 28 Days was such a tough act to follow and we all had such high expectations for it.

If you can forget about 28 days and just think of it more as a stand alone its not a bad film.

SPOILERS!

It's not a bad film by any stretch imagination and it would have been a solid 8/10 from me if not for the really silly over use of Carlyle zombie character that just destroyed that excellent atmosphere at times and whole outbreak thing was silly, even with passes I can't imagine he could've got to his wife that easily. Two very simple things that could've easily been done right with little more imagination.

Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others), a German film about the Stasi. The Stasi are probably a little sanitised in it, but the late Ulrich Mühe turns in a stunning but subtle portrayal of a Stasi officer slowly becoming more human.
