What film did you watch last night?

Inside Out - 6/10

A little bit "twee" for my liking. But at least it's an original film, not a sequel! There were some really naff bits that could have been cut I thought, and at times children will not understand what is going on.

Heck, at times adults will not understand what's going on :p

Sicario - 8/10

Good film, it wasn't one of those films where you can easily tell what's going to happen next.

The Revenant - 3/10

It was boring... I've nearly fallen asleep on it.

Bølgen

Norwegian Film :

Based on the fact that mountain pass Åkneset, located in the Geiranger fjord in Norway, one day will fall out and create a violent tsunami of over 80 meters that will crush everything in its path before it hits land in Geiranger. A geologist gets caught in the middle of it and a race against against time begins.

8/10

It bombed at the Box Office...

Guess what?

I really liked it too :)

So did shawshank I seem to recall. not comparing them, just saying

I enjoyed most of Tomorrowland, but it gets a bit silly at the end.

Which parts, its obviously not meant to be the most believable of films. I mean, humanity possibly coming together to help its self, haha. I have actually watched it about 3-4 times, in the background mind you. I can see my self watching this if im ill, hungover, or severely depressed. or perhaps a combo

Basically once the confrontation with Hugh Laurie happens, up until then ok it's a bit kiddie, but then it get's firmly into the kids film mode. Struck me that it wasn't really consistent in terms of who it was pitched at. Ending was very much a young kids film, the rest of it seemed to be for older kids I would have said (37 in my case :p )

Didn't deserve to bomb though.

The Martian (2015)

VSTm4Zp.jpg.png

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3659388/reference

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Not quite as good as Interstellar (2014) for me but still a fantastic scfi film from the great Ridley Scott. A must see for all scifi film fans

Highly recommended
9/10

I watched the Hateful 8. It was absolutely crap. QT needs to change his approach to making a movie instead of using the same, tired, two location shoot with the same actors.

Boring as ****.

Airplane II. It really doesn't hold up, particularly not back to back with the brilliant first one. There's a few good jokes in there, but overall it just doesn't compare, and it repeats soooo many jokes.

Definitely best avoided.

Hateful Eight

I really enjoyed it.
If you don't generally like Tarantino's stage play style of film, or his dialogue (and mad love of the N word), then you won't like this.
I, however, do.

Bit long at over two and a half hours though.

He Never Died. Biographical art house movie in the style of a biblical allegory, starring amateur singer/songwriter Henry H. Rollins as Henry H. Rollins. We learn about his failed relationships, his latest ex-wife, his estranged daughter, and his lifelong battle with mental illness.

This engaging film will delight and inform viewers of all ages.

8/10.
