What film did you watch last night?

Been on bit of a roll this weekend after watching Airplane a few weeks back and picking up Now TV.

Top Secret - my favourite of the Abrahams Zucker Abrahams' films, just silly from start to finish. Love the Swedish book shop, the big phone and the phoney dog poo. 5/5

Hot Shots! - not quite in the same league as Top Secret and Airplane but fun enough, more intent on spoofing than just silliness but Lloyd Bridges talks a whole lot of nonsense throughout! 3/5

Hot Shots! Part Deux - similar to the first, Lloyd Bridges steals the show again - lets do this the old navy way, first guy to die looses! 3/5

I can think I can hear The Naked Gun calling...

Bottom Live 3 Hooligan Island

The first 2 "Bottom Live" are my all time favourite live comedy shows but, for me, Live 3 is where it started to go wrong. It's still good (5/10) but nowhere near as good as Live 1 (8/10) or Live 2 (9/10) and the later one was dire!

I'll need to check out Top Secret :D

And since we are quoting Hot shots...Thank you, Andre. I'll have the veal piccata :p

The Revenent. 8/10

Fantastic acting by Leo, the bear scene was just brutal. Great filming as well, loved the long single takes. Tom Hardy did a cracking job as always.

The first one where they are cracking up for about 20 minutes is hilarious!

Rewatched Man of Steel last night in preparation for Dawn of Justice. Best Superman movie of them all in my opinion, with pretty good audio that I'd actually forgotten about. 7 or maybe 7.5/10. Never personally understood why this film seems to get a lot of hate.

Me too, I think the silent majority still loved it. I certainly did. If you remember how awful Superman Returns was in comparison.

Oh, I see your point! ;)

The Revenant 6.5/10

Can't believe Leo won an Oscar for this... he has been better in other flicks.

Over the past week:

Black Hawk Down - 7/10
Three Kings - 7/10
American Sniper - Pro American rubbish aside, it was pretty enjoyable. Bradley Cooper surprisingly good 8/10
The Hurt Locker - 8/10
Green Zone - 8/10
Battle for Haditha - 6.5/10
Jarhead - 7/10
And just finished Fury. Very powerful film. BP awesome as always. 8/10

batman vs superman 2.5/10. Please do not waste your time, energy and money to see this movie. absolutely terrible in every single way possible. I regret even watching it.

Deadpool (2016) 9/10

Late to the whole 'deadpool is awesome' show and I am not sure if I appreciated it more because of my general apathy to Batman vs Superman.

It was awesome though. I did not get tired of the humour at all. The success of the film is a direct consequence of the passion that Ryan Reynolds obviously has for the character (apparently he is a douchbag in RL though!). The action sequences were great. The motorway scene was just fantastic.

I know they are going to bankroll a sequel of this, and they should, aside from GOTG, this is the best Marvel outing yet IMO.

The Devastator.

B-movie, vhs flick from the 80's. Made it through to the end, but any other time beyond the small hours of the morning, it'd have been long gone.

There are better examples of gunplay senseless action b's of the era. 2/10

Another vote for Top Secret, if you've not seen it. Great one that gets forgotten about.
