What film did you watch last night?

Pans Labyrinth on C4

Dear god that was such a good movie, it goes at so many different levels its unbelievable. Quite possible my favourite ever film.

10/10, 5 starts, A+ the lot, fantastic movie!

Trackman - group of twenty-somethings trapped underground with a pick ax wielding maniac. Now there's something you don't see everyday! I think the Russian film makers behind this effort weren't aware of the other 100 similar films out there.

Letters from Iwo Jima - One of two films directed by Clint Eastwood about the Island of Iwo Jima during WW2. A great film which somehow slipped by me. I much prefer it to the other Flags of Our Father which lacked impact.

Man on Fire - a good film maybe the third time I've seen it. Not as good as I remember the first time around but still a good watch. 7/10

Legion -What the hell is this? There are spoilers below but seriously it is a **** film. The plot snippet reminded me of the film Constantine, good vs evil battling it out. Hmm this isn't anywhere near the same quality of film. All the angels in heaven have turned into the bad guys because god has given up on humans and in turn all the people that are weak in the world have turned into zombies. We don't need anything of religious value to take care of them.. just guns and God can't seem to get past these guns. I am not sure what this film wants to be; a fun gore galore fest or something deeper with some religious depth but I can't stress enough how it fails in both so hard. The characters are ridiculous especially the son who suddenly 'mans up' and as for the ending with the change of heart... ahh I can't be bothered to waste any more time on this film writing all this. 1/10

Constantine 9/10

A nice Good vs Evil movie that doesn't **** around, however many reviews I've read that say the acting is poor or that it tries to do too much in too short a time, I enjoy as much as the first time I saw it. Well saying that I still don't like Rachel Weisz.

Interesting in contrast to the shockingly disappointing Legion which gets a gold star for effort but a square kick in the nuts for the actual product, bad acting, bad CGI, a laughable plot and underwhelming ending. Could have been great, just wasn't.

I go ahead and +1 the above comments on Pans Labyrinth, truly stunning film.

District 9.

A very enjoyable film. The main character was excellent when his accent held up and the plot was good.

Merry Andrew (1958) on Youtube - a classic film, with a classic performance by Danny Kaye! Reminded me how simple life seemed to be a few decades ago! Some feel good songs as well from a bygone age...ah! If only life where so simple still...
