What film did you watch last night?

The Soloist.

really not as good as it looks in the trailor. dragged on abit and got a bit tedious in some places. nice to see its based on a true story though, what a legend.

have to admit jamie foxx nailed the role though.

You, Me, and Dupree.

It's alright I guess. I did laugh a few times and did enjoy perving over Kate Hudson but the sentimentality of the film felt so forced and spurious at times to the point I struggled to become involved and thus the heart of the movie didn't reach out and throttle me. It's weird, I could probably have watched this film another time and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I just couldn't let myself go tonight; it's based on this ideal of the loving relationship and I'm just so removed from that at the moment, it's like a foreign concept, so maybe that had something to do with it. Or maybe I'm just in a funny mood, but it is certainly odd - been having a lot of 'those' recently. Actually, I think I'm just over-tired. :p

I was expecting something better than the film probably was, but I can't really tell if my judgement is a little off. Saying that, the opening scene with the soundtrack just worked wonderfully and then the film just kind of meandered along until it got to its dramatic twist. I would be inclined to agree with the IMDb rating in this instance and I really don't think Matt Dillon was right for the part. I think this may have to be one of those films where I'll have to watch it again at some point in the future and see how I feel about it then, but still, for £3 one can't complain. ;)

I watched the new Star Trek film.

Totally unimpressed, it was simply 'just another Star trek film', and nothing more. I really hope they don't try to revive the franchise and make more films with the same cast now, there really is no need, they should stop chasing the money and let it die.

Unfortunatly for you, the story line in the film was divised with every intention of reviving the franchise. Without revealing a spoiler to those who have not seen it, the writers can now do Star Trek all over again!

I think this is a good thing, as long as they do not stuff it up:)
