What film did you watch last night?

Did they make that as a kids cartoon or did they stay true to the Graphic Novel version?

I've not read the graphic novel (seen a couple of snaps from it though), but I would say they've kept true to it. The art style is definitely more mature, than Superman/Doomsday which I also thought was fantastic.

I do realise i'm in a very small minorty but i just found Man on Fire slow and horribly bloated. Liem Neeson kicks ass!

Yep, Man on Fire was boring and incredibly predictable, with Washington playing the same sort of role he always does.

A few nights ago I watched The Frighteners, which was a semi-tongue in cheek ghost romp starring Michael J Fox. I thought it was very original and that the plot was excellent. However, it didn't quite know whether to be utterly silly or more sinister, and the combination of the more disturbing themes and the slapstick didn't always work. Some of the blame should probably land on the soundtrack which reminded me of Brain Dead in it's upbeat 'jolliness' - I later found out both films were done by Peter Jackson.

So it was watchable, but I was disappointed that I had to put my brain on hold as frequent as I did. It just makes the grade by the plot being a saving grace.

3/5

Watched Valkyrie...
A bit meh to be honest, Tom Cruise played the same character he's been playing for twenty years just in a German uniform, and the rest of the film felt like it was just a 'how many famous faces can we cram into one film' parade. A reasonable plot line indeed but there was nothing special in the direction or acting.

The Bluray also had the most ridiculous dynamic range I've ever heard on a disc; I'm all for whispers being quiet and explosions being LOUD but this was to the degree where I spent most of the film either turning the sound up or rapidly grabbing the remote to stop my ear-drums from being destroyed, and this was on a proper hifi system and not through the tv!

Watched Watchmen last night and was left thinking WTF. Don't really know what type of film it was and what really happened. Not what I expected at all.

The brunette was stunning though so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

Was meant to watch Fargo but Project Catwalk was on and it was a particularly exciting episode, apparently.

I'm going to dump her.

Lmfao.

and I watched Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, such a good film. I've seen it oh so many times.
Although my movie watching didn't go to well to start off with, i sat on my bean bag and the velcro burst open....cue thousands of little white polystyrene balls everywhere!

I gave Disaster Movie a chance on Sky Premiere last night. Dear oh dear oh deary me.

I want to know who keeps funding those damn films - Scary Movie 1&2 were ok (I stress just ok!) but ever since then they've all been absolutely awful. I made the mistake of actually trying to watch Meet the Spartans recently and turned it off after twenty minutes without a single smile from me
