What film did you watch last night?

Borg McEnroe - worth a watch for tennis fans.

Shia LaBeouf is good as McEnroe, and Sverrir Gudnason is Borg plus the tennis is enjoyable and the insight into Borg's character is interesting. My only issue is that the camera seemed to be a tad shaky on occasion and it almost nausea inducing at the strangest times.

Can I ask a question on that? When they were speaking in French or Swedish did it have subtitles? Only reason I ask is that I tried to watch this on a flight last week but it got on my nerves as I didn't know what they were saying so I turned it off. Only watched the first 15 minutes or so. I was annoyed as I really wanted to watch it as it looked good

Oceans 11 on HD dvd not as good as i remember 6.5 /10

Prince Purple Rain HD dvd music 8.5 /10 film 2 / 10 (the 2 was for the chick getting out of the lake )

The Open House (Netflix)

A contender for worst movie of the year so far, I know this was likely to be the standard C movie on Netflix, watched the trailer thinking this will pass some time when Im bored. It was bad, started ok but got worse, there was no plot and the ending was rushed with no explanation on what just went on and why.

1/10

Yes it was fully subbed....with the amount of Swedish language in it I can't imagine how much of a drudge it would seem without them.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 - 4/10

Not sure about the hype for this. People surprised that Vince Vaughn does serious?

Bone Tomahawk was a good little film but it seems the director is a one-trick pony with his "quiet ultra violence". I wasn't shocked, just a bit meh...

Withnail & I - Mockingbird Theatre screening

Can honestly say that this was one of the best viewing experiences I've ever had. Was a fully sold out screening consisting of some really devoted fans. The atmosphere was fantastic all round, people swapping trivia before the flick started. I was sitting next to a guy who'd been to one of the original screenings!

The film itself is of course perfect. A master class in British black comedy. Seen it more times then probably any other film and it get's better and more appreciable each and every time.

The theatre itself is fantastic. Seats at a guess around a hundred and is very comfortable.

mother!

Blu Ray arrived yesterday so watched it for a second time.

I just love it so much. It's just so outlandishly perverted in it's certainty and style that I can't help but admire it. cripplingly pretentious and overly allegorical, maybe, but all the better for it I feel.

Jealous of the Withnail screening, sounds like a good night.

Just looked up the venue and in Feb they are doing the Lord of The Rings Extended editions back to back - 800 minutes!

Thor 1. 8/10. Loved it

Thor 2. 7/10 decent enough enjoyable

Thor Ragnarock (I hope this is the end of standalone Thor films...sad ignominious end..)

4/10

And I'm saying that as a sci-fi marvel fan.

An absolute train wreck of a film that tries to be something it is not. Someone mentioned it felt like a "scary movie" take on Thor and I agree wholeheartedly. It tries to go down a silly comic route completely and yeah some jokes are funny but jebus.don't make the entire thing slapstick.
Felt like a cross between flash Gordon(80s camp movie) scary movie and valerian city of a thousand planets.

Ruined characters of Thor and Hulk Imo. OK so they want to do more with Hulk in this film (he is the main supporting act here) but aside from comedic one liners it just fails utterly. Felt like the director did not have a clue how to portray these characters....ohh see how in Avengers Thor and Hulk had this comic buddy interplay....let's stretch that one moment to an entire film......lol.This Thor movie is embarrassing.... The fart joke at the party is that really how Marvel want ppl to see it?

Soo very very bad.
