What film did you watch last night?

Casshern. Very pretty CGI, good story (albeit with a few "where the **** did that come from?" moments and suspiciously placed plot elements), and set in a steampunk dystopia where East Asia has just kicked Europe's arse in a war. Very confusing in parts, but I suspect a lot of that is down to bad subtitling.

2001: A space Odyssey
I don't know what to think, Weird yet amazing story, not much content for a 2 hour + film, characters never really grew on me, not that there were any real characters I guess. I'm left not sure what to think of it, although I get a lot more jokes because I've finally watched it... :$

The A-Team

Fantastic, just the kind of film that you want to see :D

Loved the Tank flying scene.

"You can't fly a tank foooooo!"

Really? Is it that pants? How many Matrix films are there in the series?

There's 3. The first is absolutely brilliant, and I can't really fault it. The second has a couple of good fight scenes, an outstanding car chase, some moments of dodgy CGI, an orgasmic cake and very little else of note. The third is completely forgettable.

Leon - The Professional ( directors cut )

Good lad. The extra 20-odd minutes makes a whole lot of difference to it.

Love this film. The missus however things it's a bit creepy because of the sexual hints between Leon and Matilda

That's the whole point!

I seem to disagree with the entire world re: No.3! I really liked it, mainly for the wrapping up that it did, and the conclusion of the wholly predictable Christ analogue storyline.

Watched last night : Alien 3 (Directors Cut) - again I seem to disagree with many people on this one, I like the prison dynamic, and the characters mainly.

Alien 3 is not a bad film, it's just not nearly as good as it's predecessors. On the flipside, it's miles better than the hideously bad Resurrection.

I watched Cloverfield. It had precisely one moment that made me feel in any way uncomfortable or nervous. That's not a good hit rate for a film like that.

What's your home cinema set up?

Unless you have a projector or big plasma and surround sound, a film like Cloverfield isn't going to work.

Zombieland.

An enjoyable romp through a land full of zombies.

Nice easy watching and a great cameo from one of the greats
