What film did you watch last night?

Been a few years since i last watched Edge Of Tomorrow, it went down a treat on the virtual big screen.

I really hope the sequel kicks off, more Emily Blunt in hardcore mode please.

Really enjoyed that, love the ground hog day theme if done well, if any one has any recommendations im all ears.

The Myth (2005) - 4/10

A cultural historical epic, but I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be mocking or promoting the culture.

It’s got classic silly Jackie Chan fight scenes full of slapstick and energetic acrobatic moves which keep it funny and entertaining, but it’s also far too long.

The modern day story’s daft, the historical costumes look cheap and it gets really poor in the final act with weak CGI, a pantomime villain and awful romance scenes.

Thanks for this, looked it up on your recommendation. Always like Sam Rockwell and also always like movies directed by Eastwood. Felt it jumped a bit at the end (I felt there was more to come from the reporters side of things) but I guess that's just how it played out.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I saw a couple of references to it a page or two back which is what intrigued me to take a look. :)

Predator 2 - 7/10 - A really good sequel which takes what people liked about the first and expands upon it with a clear concise story, good action pieces and some memorable performances which only suffers the "it's terrible" reviews because it didn't star Arnie for the most part so didn't match peoples expectations. I particularly like the expansion of Predator lore with new weapons, history, tech etc but I also think moving it to a city "the Concrete Jungle" was a master-stroke.

Nice spoiler there. I know it's old, but at least tag it.

The Spoiler rules are very clear - anything less than 2 weeks old needs spoilers, anything older doesn't. If you don't like that rule please chat to the Mods rather than telling people following the rules that they must change their posts - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/spoilers-please-read-before-posting.18799228/

That rule makes sense in a thread about a specific movie, but not in a reasonably open thread with pretty much any discussion of any movie. Then, common sense says something that is a spoiler, should probably be in a spoiler tag :)

All the Devil's Men on Netflix.

Decent action film set in London about the CIA trying to catch a Russian terrorist. The character are a bit by the numbers but the story has enough twist and turns with some decent action in between to keep it interesting to the end.

I might check out Into the Spiderverse. I suppose what has put me off, if only a bit little, is that it's an animation which I do quite like, though I usually end up opting for something else.

I thought the same but it's really bloody good.
Animation style is fantastic and refreshing from the norm

That is NOT the current rule. I pointed out the extremely clearly written rule, if you don't like that rule talk to the Mods about changing it like we all did years ago when the rule was brought in. You obviously can do whatever you like in your posts but people following the rules are NOT doing something wrong.

JoJo Rabbit

I think Taika Waititi's style will either endear you forever or wear very thin after a while and for me this film started me on the road to the latter. I think he's a great director with a decent style, but I think his type of humour is extremely limited to it's own form. When it works, it works hard and your doubled over but I find that increasingly rare with each movie he makes.

Totally get why people loved it, but it's not for me.

Into the Spiderverse is one of my favourite films and I can happily watch it again every now and then.

I would love to watch it on a super high end OLED some day as I imagine it would look utterly amazing.
