What film did you watch last night?

I'm yet to see the 2nd conjuring but I loved the first one!

Usually sequels are disappointing which is why I've dragged my feet in seeing it.

I hope I at least like it when I get around to it!
Watched the Conjuring 3 last night. 6/10. More like an occult detective story, loosely based on a real event the Warrens were involved with, then a load of fictional elements bolted on to spice the story up.

I hadn't realised that there was a 3rd!

I think I need to make an evening of it and watch all 3!
Just don’t expect to sleep well, especially if you throw in the Nun. I’m not particularly religious but there’s a few moments in that one where I felt like making the Sign Of The Cross! Oh and if you can play it, apparently the 4K of Conjuring 3 is uncut whereas the Blu-ray (which we bought) was trimmed for a 15 cert.

I thought the Valak/Nun parts of Conjuring 2 were the best thing about it, the rest of the movie quite being so so, while simultaneously finding The Nun movie rather boring and quite a let down.

I'm the same as you @Vern1961, not remotely religious but something about the horror elements surrounding the demon Nun really get to me.

I preferred Conjuring 3 over 2, the story interested me much more but that could be a British thing, as being interested in most things ghostly since a young age, know the Enfield hauntings and the ensuing debunking quite well.

Bit of a special one last night. My dad got tickets for 'Bladerunner Live' at the Birmingham Symphony Hall. It's a great venue to see anything at the best of times, but it really was beyond what I expected. It wasn't a full orchestra or even a 30 piece (4 synth/keyboard players, Sax, Flute, 3 percussion, Bass guitar, Double Bass and 3 Violin players from what I could see) but the overall production was no less thunderous for all that. It really was very well executed and as I know the film and its soundtrack off by heart it was wonderful to be able to pick out the small differences in re-production.

I'd recommend any fan go see it but sadly it's only had a one off nights in select cities, the last being Dublin I believe sometime next week.

A million ways to die in the west, never heard of it before, guy from work told me about, comedy western, really enjoyed it

I watched that again a few weeks ago. When I first saw it I thought it was fairly mediocre, but I definitely enjoyed it more 2nd time round (7/10). Maybe I just like Seth MacFarlane more since I actually got round to watching (all of) Family Guy the other year and then The Orville :)

Lol! My mini sausage dog sleeps in my room at night so she protects me! :D

I saw the nun at the cinema and loved it!

Have to admit that walking back home alone in the dark afterwards was a tad creepy though!!

Good Time. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4846232/

One of the few films that I believe I've seen Robert Pattinson in.

Very good performances and an ending I didn't see coming; to be honest, I really didn't quite know what to expect.

I'll have to check out more of his work as this was well worth a watch.

Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri

An absolute masterpiece from the guy behind In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. I don't think I've ever watched a film that turned from laugh-out-loud funny to utterly bleak so quickly or so often. Part black comedy, part crime drama, it tells the story of a collection of damaged people in small town America dealing with the fallout from a hideous crime. The writing, timing, acting, and filmography are just absolutely on point throughout. If you're looking for something genuinely different and thought provoking, you need to watch this film.

A must watch 10/10.

So star wars is a chick flick, pulp fiction is a chick flik? Cmon.
yea since i learnt the new definition of a chick flick in here i tried pitching a few like that to the wife. apparently 'debbie does dallas' while technically fitting the new definition of a chick flick wasn't summat the wife was overly interested in watching. :cry::cry:

:D Of course! Didn't you know Avatar is also a chick flick!

Fatuous reasoning aside, if you go to IMDb and check the genre given for Star Wars you will see;

and for Pulp Fiction;

No mention of 'Romance' in the genre classification as in the case of Remember Me (2010) so no, don't be silly, they can't be misconstrued even sarcastically as chick flicks just because there is a kiss or love interest thrown in there. :rolleyes:
