What film did you watch last night?

It's the least Michael Bay, Bay movie i've seen in ages, really like it, watched a few times since release.
According to producer Erwin Stoff, the diplomatic compound and CIA annex were built using the actual plans. "What we did, is we had actual plans and satellite images of the original structures, and we had the guys. So we built these, we replicated both the annex and the diplomatic mission exactly to the inch."

A clockwork orange 7.5/10
Never seen this before and as I'm on a bit of a Kubrick binge at the moment, I thought it was time. Very unsettling, weird and very graphic for its time. As usual with Kubrick, stylishly shot and lots to think about.

Emily (2022) - 9/10

The Life and Inspirations of Emily Bronte, although how factually accurate all of it was is questionable.

Still, it perfectly captures the desolate and isolated setting of the moors as well as the trappings of a creative mind in a strictly regulated society and the pain and drama of forbidden/unrequited love.

It felt a bit too long towards the end, but I enjoyed it and it was interesting throughout with plenty of events, great acting and good use of music.

Lou (2022) - 6/10

A grizzled old veteran with a past rescues a hostage but this time, it’s a woman in the lead instead of a man.

The plot is mostly slow and predictable with stereotypical cliché characters, but it does everything you want a thriller to do.

Good acting and fight scenes with some thrills and tension in its wilderness setting, but the twist adds little and overall, it’s nothing new or spectacular.

Prey - 6.5/10

But rubbish rather than cheesy. Not a touch on the old predator film.

OK for a watch. But found myself losing interest at a few points.

Only watched it as coming to end of D+ trial

Thor Love and Thunder
10 minutes in and it already seems confused what exactly it is.

Hopes aren’t high. Will see what the rest brings.

Haven't been able to enjoy a marvel Film in ages. In fact the entire genre of comedy+super hero TV I just can't do anymore. The main marvel stuff just seems like copy and paste.

Tried to watch jupiter ascending other night. Nope. Just not keen.

For some reason I still like guardians. And actually more looking forward to. Some of the DC stuff

X - apparently its sort of a "part one" film and they filmed the second film at the same time, with the 2nd film being a prequel.

I'm going to give this a good score, probably something like an 8/10. Its tacky in places, its cliche in places, its very very 80's horror style in places but you know what...I reckon this film is going to become a "cult classic". Also, its got a very Tarantino-esque style about it imo, in terms of the post production film techniques.

Clerks 3. I used to love KS stuff, i guess it gets to the stage of too much. I think the last movie of his i really enjoyed was Clerks 2. It was really good fun, yeah it was full of dick/sex jokes but it was pretty well written and acted. I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions. I did sort of enjoy Clerks 3 but a lot of it was self indulgence in himself and the world he had created. After being a fan of his movies, podcasts and shows throughout the years it was pretty fun to see returns of many of the characters and actors that had been in there, which he pointed out a few times on his podcasts did it because of the friendships they had and his obvious heart attack. Clerks 3 can go from being pretty funny to pretty depressing at times.

Yeah. Just Tapped out. What a load of ****. That’s the worst MCU film I have (tried) to watch.

0/10.
And that’s an honest serious score. There is nothing good about this film.

100% agree - it's garbage like this that makes me seriously think that DC have somehow managed to get someone in the upper echelon of Marvel to bring it down from the inside!
