What film did you watch last night?

It didn't, because it's not part of the "MCU" and wasn't made by Marvel Studios.

Same with X-men, Spider-man (Raimi trilogy), Hulk (Eric Bana), Daredevil, Elektra, The Punisher, Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider

But yes, it was the first Marvel character on film, if you discount Howard the Duck.
I didn't mean in the literal sense, but without the success of Blade Marvel Studios and the MCU probably wouldn't exist, certainly not in the way it is today. Marvel was almost financially bankrupt until the Blade films saved them.

The Shawshank Redemption - 10/10

Needs no explanation. Seen it many a time. Perfection.
Agreed, amazing film. I rewatched this only a few weeks ago with my daughter who, being in her twenties, had never seen it. She was in floods of tears by the end and was glad she took the time to see it. :p
Next up for her is the Green Mile.

Couple of horrors from last week: @arc@css @Nitefly

The Sadness - 7/10 - heard loads about this, the sheer bloody violence and depravity of it and it delivered, although by the end, you're somewhat immune to the shocks. A virus turns folk into homicidal maniacs who indulge in their violent impulses with extremely bloody results.

Speak No Evil - 8/10 - that left me feeling pretty numb by the end, a great snapshot into the mind of the soft middle class who must never offend and let so much slide. I had guessed where it was going early on but guessing and seeing it, two very different things, felt horrid at the end.

Sounds like an uplifting bunch :o :p

I've seen Speak No Evil and I did enjoy it a lot, though it's quite a tough watch in parts. I'm not sure if I've seen The Sadness, so I must check that out to make sure. :)

Finally got around to watching All Quiet on the Western Front. I was enthralled throughout. It drew me in in the first few mins and I was invested all the way through. Quite a shock for Netflix, not the usual woke stuff.
Was debating a couple of weeks back as TV is rubbish, only a bloody war film might not be apt for Xmas; great to read it's decent!

On the watchlist!

And what did you think?
I walked in blind i just heard it was a love story in the 80's  i liked how it showed how cinema can connect everyone no matter who they are
I didn't really believe the relationship with Olivia and Michael. I found myself just wanting it to end most will get distracted watching at home so on the big screen it will be better 6 / 10
