What film did you watch last night?

The Towering Inferno (1974)

Technically impressive for it's time and neither of us fell asleep, considering it's near three hours run time. So it must have had something going for it. According to my wife, Steve McQueen is more handsome than Paul Newman.

Mystic River (2003)

A film I've avoided over the years thinking it would be too harrowing to watch.

I thought the film was about a young child being abducted and possibly murdered and the film centered around the parents anguish and the child's suffering.

Well deserving of the praise and awards it received at the time and I'm glad I've now watched it.

Lots of people I spoke to who watched it at home has given it a better review than people who saw it at the cinema.

Wonder why that is? Ability to pause it maybe?
Hahaha, I did actually "buy" tickets to see it at the cinema, but the 3hour+ run time kept putting me off it so I never went in. It absolutely flew past though, there's no bits that really drag on and its edited really tightly, especially between the various hearings and RDJs scenes. Only bit I rewound on was at the very end to hear what he said to Einstien to upset him (put the subtitles on for it).

Star Trek (2009)

Third time watching this and it's a great action film that I'll probably watch every few years. Everything is well done, a good script that has some funny moments, a plotline that isn't dumbed down for the masses, realistic CGI that doesn't look dated.
