What film did you watch last night?

Freelance - 1/10

How does rubbish like this even get greenlit? The pacing was awful, it wasn't funny, the acting was awful, story predictable. The main woman was so annoying, Cena was annoying, everyone else was annoying, and I'm only giving it a point because I enjoyed seeing the main ladies see through top.

Proof that you can't please everyone :)

Oppenheimer - deserves all the praise, considering it was 90% people talking in rooms, I was absolutely hooked from start to finish. I'll be rewatching again in a few weeks for sure. Still not up there with Nolan's best but damned good.

No time to Die - rewatched all of Daniel Craig's Bond films back to back and topped them all with the last. Brilliant series and I think he's my favourite Bond actor now just outdoing Connery.

Yojimbo - such a cool film.

They've finally released the 4k remasters of a lot of Kurosawa's films so starting to rewatch them. This is maybe my personal favourite out of the Kurosawa/Mifune relationship, followed closely by Sanjuro. I'll save Seven Samurai till a quiet weekend as it's a bit of a long one. (N.B Don't think Hidden Fortress has been remastered yet ).

Funny Games (2007)

Difficult one to rate. Parts of it were good and the Micheal Pitt character was especially sinister. Generally the acting was good all around and there were times I thought this is a decent film. Then some if the characters just start behaving unrealistically or movie dumb. I even paused the film at one point to rant about it to my wife. But I think it's was deliberate and the writer/director intended for the viewer to react that way. Especially when Michael Pitt's character breaks the forth wall a few times.

I'm going to be generous.

6.5/10

This is the American's version isn't it? The original is brilliant and much darker and well worth a watch if you're ok with subtitles.
