What film did you watch last night?

It's on my list to watch when I have the time (and enthusiasm). I'm kind of bored of long films these days. They all seem to drag on for no good reason, though the opposite can be said about some too. I'll watch it, just no promises how long that will take :D

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) - 6/10

An entertaining enough action adventure with lots of goofy and silly antics.

The plot’s a bit all over the place and only about half of the humour is funny, but the 3 CGI mammals look good and their personalities were strong and they characters worked well together.

It was more quips and soppy with less action than I was expecting, but Carrey’s performance was fun and pretty much stole the show.

Watched Thor - Love and Thunder for the first time yesterday. Well, if it had been billed as a Children's Fairy Tail that would have been about right. Apart from that it was just daft and silly and nothing like the 'Thor' who featured in the Comics I read years ago...

When it was first released a mate of mine described it as being 'awful' and said he left the cinema half way through the show - I now understand why...

It's was shocking tbh. They got Ragnarok perfect and then came up with that garbage. Shows you can't dish any old nonsense and it will be accepted.

Day of the Dead (original)

This might actually be my favourite to rewatch. Great setting and concept and some interesting characters, even if the soldiers are a bit stereotypical. Soundtrack is great too. The practical effects and makeup are vastly improved over Dawn too.

Night Swim - 2/10

What a total waste of Wyatt Russells talents. Film takes 1hr 10mins to get into gear and by that point most folks will have given up. It’s a PG13 horror with loud jump ‘scares’, but fails to deliver on any level. Don’t even bother watching.

Love this review :)

Yeah I think THE only good PG/12 rated horror was 'The Others' IIRC that was a PG or a 12 wasn't it? Didn't need to rely on gore and had some terrifying moments, the twist although obvious after you've seen it was well played for it's time.

The Kitchen - Netflix - 6/10

Easy enough watch but I feel Kano is very much type cast as that particular inner city london guy. I can only see him in Top Boy and he suits nothing else unfortunately.

Troy directors cut ,don't know what the difference is between theatrical and dc since its been 20 years when i watched it at the cinema, maybe more boobies.
still a good film 8/10 bit long though at 3 hours.

I am a Hero - Japanese zombie flick which tries to be light hearted and serious. Quite a good overall movie but has some some.funny sequences. Can clearly see anime's like Zom 100 has taken inspiration from movies like this. 7/10.

Exactly what i rated it. Worst 'horror' ive seen in a long time, and I watch a lot of them.

We turned it off after half an hour, dull as dishwater. I think Netflix just pick genre specific actors and hope the "he was good in X" is enough to drag people to watch, Leave the World Behind was another one that fit this description.

I remember watching at the cinema and thinking how real the effects looked. Even on a rewatch a few years back they were still impressive.

I love my horror but damn, this was awful. There isn’t a single moment that I found memorable at all. Even Blair Witch 2 was better and that is one of the worst excuses for a horror I’ve seen.

I’m annoyed for having stayed to watch the whole film (night swim).
