What film did you watch last night?

The Book of Eli - Post apocalyptic drama with Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. Loved the scenario and actors but the film overall was only OK, spoilers below.

Spoilers:-

I thought Eli was too powerful (even before I know he was blind!!) and I was put off by the overly religious themes.

3/5

Lakeview Terrace

I had been putting this off for ages and decided to watch it last night as I couldnt think of anything else to watch. One of the reasons I had put it off is because Mr Jackson was in it and most of his recent films I have been dissapointed with however in this one right from the off he does a great job of playing this neighbour from hell. Like most films of recent times though it starts off well, gets predictable in the middle and spirals off into a pretty poor ending but I enjoyed it just for his character and the story

The Prestige

Thought it was absolutely fantastic. I've heard it criticised when (spoilers****) it goes a bit sci-fi, but felt that that was the whole point of the film. Its aim was to contrast the two characters, and how Angiers performed the trick, in comparison to Borden, showed up his character.

The Social Network, a fantastic film, I didn't fall asleep at all. Regardless of whether its fact or fiction or a muddy, either or mixture, it was still interesting. Fincher did a good job and Sorkin's script is sharp.

Some laughs, some drama, a good watch even if it is two hours.

8/10

USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! etc

Watched The Expendables

Entertaining to a point but poorly executed and ultimately very disappointing film. Even the core element of the film which was action felt like a lazy job and the "awesome guy" dialogue went downhill very quickly after the initial scene (you know what I mean if you seen it).

6/10 but at least half of that is to do with the cast.

The BFG made that film :D 2/10 because of the cast ;)
