Just finished watching Skyline, I haven't seen so much dodgy CGI since the 2012 movie

The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh (1977). Ostensibly with my 4 year old, but to be honest I wanted to watch it and she makes a good excuse for these trips back to childhood. It's very well done, with great artwork and good storytelling, and a million times better than the dross Disney have put out since the late 80s. My girl enjoyed it too!

The Town - Borrowed a lot from Heat or LA takedown if you like but was a good movie 8/10.

Nah! Spirits Within get's a 6 for graphics, Advent Children gets 8 for awesomeness!
Anyhoo, watched Despicable Me last night, and I was very disappointed.
Not sure if it was a case of it being hyped up, or just that the minions would have been so much more had they not been reskinned Raving Rabbids.
Graphics were ok, and the few adult-themed jokes raised a chuckle, but on the whole it was just a bit meh. No where near the delights of How To Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3.

Saturday Night: Predators 7/10
Not bad tbh, obviously not as good as the Arnie original but better than the Danny Glover sequel imo. Didn't like it being set on another planet nor the love in between man and Predator at the end but seeing as I'd already witnessed that in the film I watched last night it wasn't all that original. As for what I watched last night....
Sunday Night: Alien vs Predator 5/10
Utter rubbish, crap story (didn't realise it was set before the original Alien), awful cast, stupid looking predators and again the lead female tag teaming with the Predator at the end was just laughable especially as it was mainly the Predators that killed all of her team at the start of the film
Tonight I'm going to to watch Alien vs Predator 2 for the first time, I'm not expecting much....

Mesrine - both parts - 9/10 - fantastic performance by Cassel and good old fashioned film making with proper stunts and little or no cgi.
Despicable me - 7.5/10 - solid entertainment but don't think it will be a classic
Monsters - 7/10 - a good film, if slightly miss-sold on the trailer. Decent tension and story telling, and amazing that it was put together for $15k using Adobe CS4!
