What film did you watch last night?

The Other Guys - 7.5/10 maybe an 8 just for The Rock and Sam Jackson's cameos :D

The Karate Kid - 7/10 not a patch on the original and no "wax on, wax off" :(

How To Train Your Dragon - 9/10 a lot funnier than I thought it would be, the main dragon also has an uncanny resemblance to my dog with it's mannerisms.

Watched some very good Blu-Ray transfers last couple weeks.

Star Trek XI - 9/10
Was great at the pictures, very suprised how good it actually was. On Blu-Ray it has a stomping DTS-HD soundtrack!

Sherlock Holmes - 8/10
Another suprisingly good film. Not as impressive on BR but still a v.good movie.

Inception - 9/10
First time I've seen this and it's done justice with the great soundtrack on BR. Not half as confusing as I thought it was going to be after hearing and reading feedback. I thoguht they did it very well.

I saw Carlos at THE REX in Berkhamsted (Art Deco cinema), this film was shown in Digital Intermediate (2K) (master format).

Synopsis

From the acclaimed director of IRMA VEP and SUMMER HOURS, Olivier Assayas, comes an explosive new work of astonishing scope; an epic portrayal of the notorious revolutionary and terrorist, CARLOS(played by Edgar Ramirez in the breakthrough performance of the year). A sensational hit of the Cannes and Telluride Film Festivals, CARLOS is a exciting, sexy, globe-spanning ride through the life of one of the most enigmatic, violent and fascinating personas of the 20th century. Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, for two decades, was one of the most wanted terrorists on the planet. Between 1974 and 1994, he lived several lives under various pseudonyms, weaving his way through the complexities of international politics of the period. Known to the world as Carlos the Jackal, his resume of violent revolutionary acts led to notoriety of the most extreme kind.

the UK version is only 140 minutes but it's a mini-series 330 min.

9/10

Watched about half of Descent 2, before my wife (who hates any form of horror) came into the room & made me turn it off! :(

Not bad for what I saw - seemed to follow on well from the first film.

Based on what I saw I'd say 7/10.

Narh, the first one would be a solid 7/10.

The second is 6/10 at best.

I've again watched lots of films and I'll try and do a fairly big update.

Just want to pipe up about "Tell no one", which I've now seen twice (straight after each other) and it was outstanding.

It's a French thriller, brilliant, really worth the watch.

Black Swan... One particular scene was riveting

You had me at hello

Will let you know my thoughts:D

EDIT: There better be some pasty flesh in this, i dont like dancing movies that replicate swan lake

EDIT:2 wtf

yea im no expert on ballet but it seems portman went all out on this. i think she was doing 5 hours a day for 3 months ballet training. Pretty good film.

Just started Somewhere, S. Coppola film i think.

Is the Black Swan out then as it says 21st January 2011 on IMDB but was at the London film festival October 2010, but does specify UK release date Jan 2011, if so tut tut to some ;).

watched last night (first time watching all):

Stalker (1979 russian film) - 8/10 very slow but really good imo.

Adventureland - Nothing like i thought it would be, reminded me a bit like the girl next door, not a raunchy comedy but a really good sweet film, 9/10

V for Vendetta - Thought it was great, 8/10

Last Airbender - I actually really enjoyed this. Acting could be a bit better, film felt a bit rushed, and the fact that it is only half the story was annoying ... but 7/10 still

Taking of Pelham 123 (2009)

Good solid action film, a bit predictable but very little isn't these days. Otherwise an excellent watch. 7/10

Hostage, pretty decent show. Just got inception on blu ray today, something to help pass in my first day of the holidays.
