What film did you watch last night?

What didn't you like about it ? :)

I found the whole premise of going 3 dreams 'deep' to plant an idea uninteresting and unbelievable I guess. It's also full of small plot inconsistencies which annoy me;

Saito just takes it for granted they succesfully planted the idea? he was unconcious/dead when Fischer got the new will.
And why was Saito so bloody old.
And if they could just kill themselves at the limbo level to wake up why not do that instead of all the over elaborate kick things

The Rules Of Attraction. I read the book over Christmas and wasn't aware there was a film so gave it a bash. Pretty good, stayed kinda true to the book but missed out quite large bits which I thought were important. Nonetheless, quite a good watch.
And, as we're men - Shannyn Sossamon is amazingly hot in it.

Decided to give inception another go....still pants

A wise man, you are.

Into the Wild - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758758/

I quite enjoyed this, but I'm torn between his decision to actually go into the wild. I found the journey towards Alaska interesting, meeting all the different people and stuff, but he was a bit of an idiot to go off on his own. This seems to be the consensus surrounding the real-life event too, and in the final few scenes I couldn't work out whether he was really happy. Alone, cold, starving in the middle of a wrecked bus? Still a good watch, 7.5/10.

Das Experiment - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250258/

Utterly amazing film, based around the Stanford Prison Experiment. The characters slowly developed to actually become their roles; the prisoners terrified of the guards and afraid to step out of line, and the guards power-crazed, willing to do whatever it took to stay in control, even sabotaging the experiment itself. Brilliant, 8.5/10

The Kings Speech

Well I heard some good stuff about the film before hand but really wasn't sure to expect. The basic gist of the story sounds stale at best.

But don't doubt, this is a wonderful film! Firth and the rest of the cast is sublime, often funny, often serious and perfectly addressing the rigours of a most serious moment of our history.

It is pompously wonderful British film.

Do watch. 8/10

Watched- Never Let Me Go, excellent british film about kids growing up in a boarding school which turns out to have a more sinister nature. Really quite a thought provoking film. 8.5/10

Rabbit Hole and Blue Valentine

Both compelling films with great performances from Nicole Kidman and Ryan Gosling. my word, Nicole Kidman looks good in this film

7/10 for Rabbit Hole, 8/10 for Blue Valentine.

I also watched Winters Bone, what a load of ****

Need some advice guys. I'm going to the cinema this evening but can't decide between these 4 films:

127 Hours
The Kings Speech
The Next Three Days
...Harry Potter (if all is lost)
Or anything else you can think of

Any suggestions??

I've seen all those films.

The King's Speech is by FAR the best film. Have those recommending 127 Hours over it even seen The King's Speech?

Maybe they have, and just have a different opinion than you?

I've seen both and think either would make a good evening's viewing.

Lost in Translation. A good film, not something I'd usually like but I find myself watching it again and again which is very rare for me. Especially so with this genre.
Though, this is the first time I've watched it in a couple of years and I remember the girl being a lot more attractive...

Wish I'd listened to you mate. I've just come back from 127 Hours and found it a bit boring. The beginning was enjoyable, but once "the incident" happened (to avoid spoilers) I just got bored. The ending was good though.

Overall....6.5/10 (but I can see why people might like it....it's a well shot film)

127 Hours is beautiful in sound and look. Do we really expect anything less given the director though?

I enjoyed the film, but thought it was far from his best.
